Beoplay V1 and Sonos

I am thinking of buying a BeoPlay V1 to replace my Beovision 6-26. I would like to connect the V1 to my Beolab 8000's, and to a Sonos system.

Are there any experiences or recommendations on the Forum for connecting a Sonos to the V1?

How would you connect it? Via the AV connector or digitally via the SPDIF connector? In case of connecting to the SPDIF connector, would this mean that one of the five HDMI ports has to 'allocated' to the Sonos?

Any thoughts on the audio settings? The music from the Sonos should only be played on the two Beolabs and not on the Beovision center speaker! Probably this requires defining a speaker group for this? How about the audio mode? Would the 1:1 Custom mode be the best for playing music from the Sonos?

I am really looking forward to my new setup! Any suggestions and recommendations are much appreciated!

Why don't you just get a Apple TV that fits perfectly inside the V1? It is very easy to push music to it from every iPhone/iPad that supports AirPlay. 

I think it is easy to setup which speakers you wan't to use for music and since you will have to bl8000 connected you only have to select to play it in stereo or make a custom mode. I would connect the sonos via the AV-input or via SPDIF which could be better, but perhaps the D/A is better in the sonos box. 

The SPDIF is add-on for the HDMI-ports. For example if you connect a computer that don't support HDMI-audio you could send the audio via SPDIF.

Apple Tv is certainly the next add-on. The idea is to use it mainly for photos which I have on my Mac. I would probably not use it for music. My entire multi-room set-up is based on sonos and I don't want to give in on that.

As for the DAC, I am not sure that the Sonos Dac is so good. You can find many reviews on the internet where they improve the audio quality by using a sonos with an external DAC. I would hope that the V1 would take over this role.

I traded the sonos for playmaker but a ATv is more than adequate for the v1 which I have for my set up

I have an apple tv in bedroom V1 and it works great. Just P.MUTE. I also play video or mirror my Mac over AirPlay mirror that way. Works very good also.
