I think that's one of the problems bno face. Since their tvs are on the whole very reliable and they have such good picture and sound and due to visionclear they maintain it over a long period of time there's really not much need to upgrade to a new one.
My avant is almost ten years old and still going strong , the picture and sound wipe the floor with modern tvs that I've seen. It may not be hd but I'd rather have a32 inch screen that's pin sharp and natural loking than a weird smudge LCD mess like some other manufacturers produce...
butch1: I think it was 2005 I changed from a avant dvd to a bv5 hd,I still ahve both and the beovision 5 hd still has a fantastic picture,to my eyes much better and natural than the beovision 7s.

BV 5 IS certainly better than the BV 7, as it is plasma. I'm not impressed by the picture of the BV 7.
A plasma is much closer to the picture of the CRT tv's when it comes to natural colors... and it's simply much more pleasant to look at.
I thought that i would give an update on my loewe connect id tv which was delivered on tuesday i was able to upgrade to the 46" which i'm so much more happy for. I love the minimalistic design and look of this tv which is a bonus.
In my opinion i don't know how anyone could find a loewe tv a pain too use it is so easy and i have the tv talking to my bluray player and amp via the hdmi ARC input, and now i'm just using the loewe assist remote control to control everything.
My bluray and my av receivers remotes are now redundant. It new what make of bluray player i'm using and what av receiver i'm using too which shocked me and i like the fact that i can choose weather to run the amp or tv speakers at a touch of a button from the tvs onscreen menu.
The sound quality is very similar to the v1 and the bass from the downfiring woofers is amazing with deep and punchy bass, the front speakers are also rich and very clear. The picture quality is simply incredible from sd to hd and it's almost identical to the v1. the motion and detail levels are very high and makes watching movies an even more engaging experience.
loewe now calibrate there tvs at the factory and the picture is pretty spot on all i did was make a few minor adjustments and thats it... i have no backlight bleeding or clouding and the screens pretty uniform and the black levels are quite deep aswell which helps the colours burst off the screen even more.
I have had many tvs and speakers over the years from different brands and i have to say that i'm just bowled over with it watching films and blurays is as if i have had a veil pulled from my eyes as the detail in movies is simply divine and almost photographic in it's delivery.
I'm a fan of both bang-olufsen and loewe and just feel privileged to now own what i feel is a highend tv. The only thing i will say is that there is some colour drop off but only at extreme angles but where the tvs swiveled to my seating postion it isn't an issue.
In my opinion i think that both the v1 and the connect id tvs provide very good picture and sound quality and feel that you can't go wrong with either one.

Excellent review Markledee! Great looking TV especially with that sexy orange! Love it! I definitely prefer the look of it to the V1!

Thank you paul w, these tvs in the flesh look even better than in the photos and i dont find the fabric speaker grille to be cheap looking at all although if i was the design chief i would have chosen metal over the cloth as it would be more durable long term but in the many different colour options that you can get this tv in.
I think that in the future i may buy some beolab speakers to hook up to the tv via loewes audio link adapter cable and buy some rca to powerlink cables which i saw on ebay the other day.
Mark is this a new remote with the Loewe ? I have an Art as perviously mentioned and I can't control my Sony Blu-ray player with the remote any ideas ?
As a B&O loyal fan, but and after considering the specs and cosmetics, i'd take the Loewe any day. £2,000 is fantastic value for money.
Heres how the Beoplay website should have marketed the V1 or similar...

On your sony bluray player go into the menu settings, sony have something which is called sony bravia theatre sync if its switched off turn it on. The bluray player i use is a philips bdp3000 which uses a similar function called easylink. I switched that on and was able too control the player with the loewe assist remote, i can't promise you that it will work but it is worth a shot. Also make sure that you have your hdmi lead going from the sony player to the loewes first hdmi input.
What i have done since then is connect my denon av receiver to the loewes hdmi input and went into the denons setup menu where i have turned on the hdmi control. With my bluray player connected to the denon receiver the tv recognises these too devices and i'm able to use just the assist remote control for both as well as switching audio from the loewes speakers and my av receiver.
So now if i want too watch a movie all i press is the dvd button on the loewe remote which then puts it on the right input shuts off it's internal speakers and i'm able to control the volume of my av receiver with the volume icon displayed on the loewe i really love this function.
hope i have managed to help you.
Hey Mark
I had a try and its certainly done something the Tv now has BD instead of HDMI 1 and holding down the Tv button on the remote tells you it can control the functions on the source however the Sony Blu-ray is a fairly old player 2007 and doesn't have Sony Bravia theatre sync. Certainly the ability is there and its an interesting feature I'll investigate further tomorrow.
Thanks
Ps Glad your enjoying the Loewe have you tried 3d yet ?

Google for hdmi-CEC.

Well i'm glad you got some progress i was going to add that components connected via hdmi uses CEC which enables certain products to be able to communicate with each other they run buy different names but mean the same thing, sony bravia theatre sync, vierra link, philips easylink etc... etc...but i didn't want to add to much jargon to what i already added in my post.
As for 3d i haven't tried it yet my bluray player isn't a 3d ready one and to be honest i'm not to bothered i much prefer a good 2d image, although i did have a demo when i was in a loewe store and it wasn't bad.
