Yep, that is one of the earlier versions of the Beta. Its not radically different in terms of GUI, other than the clever search function covering Deezer and DLNA simultaneously. Using Bluetooth is simple. Once you device is paired, and you start playing from your device the Moment switch to that "source". Simple I would say.

Simple I would say.
It's true, the GUI is not radically different, but thats ok for me. I don't think that the user experience would vastly improve just from a total redesign, most of the time the small ideas and improvements are by far more important. A totally new interface would just bring back some basic mistakes.
I'm still not happy with the mood wheel. The music selection from the middle and outer ring misses to many time my taste. The inner ring works perfect for me. But i miss a little bit the MOTS from the Beosound 5.
What i like is the information you now get when you take the lid off. Really nice. The only thing a been missing in the Notifications section: You're able to see the time, but you don't see the date, or did I miss something.

I´m using the built in media server. I´m using DMA menu style "Advanced".
Other than that I use the default settings.
I would do a factory reset after the upgrade, if you have problems.

Heard a rumor that the GUI will be tweaked further in coming updates, as well as that face recognition will be added. Not something that will happen in the nearest future as I understood it then probably in the roadmap together with Spotify Connect and Googlecast.
Face recognition would be used to provide profiles for different users, so that mood wheel give a more personalized experience. To what I can see the Jukebox include a camera, so why not.

Are you sure your NAS is not having dropouts, or lost packets on the network. Stuck at 10% or 1% is not being able to shake hands with the DLNA server and NAS.
Could be anything, even a bad network connection or bad cable....

What about the album covers on the BeoSound Moment ?
I think the Moment shows the Deezer embbeded cover for the streaming music, but what about your personnal collection stored on the NAS ?
If a JPEG picture is placed in the album folder, does the Moment show it, like the BeoSound 5 ?
Or must the picture be embbeded in each song ?
I remember someone said the cover was not always the same than the JPEG picture and could be confusing.
And finally, if an artist is present both in your own collection and in your Deezer favorites, is it easy to find it ?

I always embed my correct Album covers in all songs, thinking future proof...
I you have an album in Deezer and in your collection, you get an easy view now on the Jukebox. The name of your server/nas appears beneath the Album/Artist. Easy to see if its coming from your collection or Deezer's.

The Moment leverages the TAG album cover published by the DLNA server. It stores this information in its DB in the form of URL pointing to the album cover image stored on the NAS. It also enriches the track info with the artist image Gracenote link.
The search screen splits the search output in two parts, Local collection and Deezer, so very easy to identify.
No.. Nas is working fine for any other stuff. Using the dlna server with kodi for example works like a charm. I have 2 ethernet port on it and I use bonding to make sure I have enough bandwidth coming from the nas whatever happens (2gb)...
Really don't understand what happens. Since I deserted it even doesn't get stuck @1% it directly stops.

Are the two interfaces aggregated and what ethernet switch are you using? I would test with one Ethernet interface active only.

After having played with the Moment and the latest beta sw... How do I add an album I have found via the search function ? It is a Deezer album I would like to add so I can find it later ?
There are some things that I find not very intuitive about the search, and I don't know if it is even possible ? Do I need to log in to Deezer to do this ?

Already tried it, but it didn't do anything, the account is my dealers Premium+ account, maybe there is a delay before the collection is updated ?

I just tested it, heart an album on the JukeBox then refreshed my albums in the Deezer IOS app, in less than 15s the album was available in my collection as well as behind the artists tile in the JukeBox

Ok, so you need to refresh via the IOS app first, for it to appear in collection on Moment ? Or does it maybe require the Moment to refresh the collection via settings ?

This is the way it works, I previously went to Deezer to check, not to trigger.
To confirm, I just unliked the album I previously liked, waited 5s, went to Collection and the album is no longer present.
What I have not tested is to heart an album of an artist that is not already present in my collection, this may take more time, I'll try and let you know
done ..... it just took the time to leave the search screen, where I hearted the album, to reach the collection screen where the new artist tile had been added and the hearted album behind.
The good thing in this test is that it helped me to understand a strange behavior I observed: for a reason I ignored up to now, DLNA full scan started without any change at the DLNA server level. I think now that material changes on the Deezer side, like adding a new artist (or album) to a Deezer personal collection triggers a DLNA full scan, inconsistent IMO but real.
I found the solution : installed and configured Plex server instead of the standard dlna server and it's working like a charm. :)

I got beta access as well (thanks again Lyle!!) and although the Moment worked fine for me in the past I think the new software is definitely is an improvement.
I like / much improved:
- responsiveness
- album display
- artist likes form deezer now represented in collection section with all albums underneath
- search function
- stand by function by long press
Suggestions for improvements:
- Ability to add artists tiles/photos when Deezer does not supply them. The standard (Deezer) tile when there is no picture is quite ugly. It would be really great iif you could store an artist photo on your DLNA / Twonky server. The Moment could then read that photo from DLNA / Twonky (in case Deezer supplies no picture tile). Of course other solution are also possible.
- Exclude genres from the mood wheel. Currently the music from the middle and outer ring on the Mood Wheel is hit an miss, with quite a few misses. One of the reasons (for me) is that some genres do not appeal to me across the board. So it would be great if genres could be excluded from the rings, for example by being able to select and deselect genres from the discover (or a similar) screen. Could also be a setting in the seen menu.
- Random play on all favorite and DLNA music. As much as I like the Mood Wheel I still would like a random function for all my music. The middle of the mood wheel (the "black spot") would be ideal for that (it does not seem to have a function now).
- I like the ABCDEFGH.... etc search bar in the main collection screen. I would personally like it to pop up only when I press the lower part of the screen; sometimes I just want to scroll to the artist tiles without it popping up.
- Pattern play can now only (?) be started from the wooden ring / panel. It would be nice to be able to start it from the other side as well, for example by double clicking the inner side of the volume wheel.
- No messages. Not sure if it is because it is beta software but sometimes messages appear (for example going to stand by mode) the messages themselves are quite ugly and I do not think they add much value.

Hmm, this does not work on my Moment. I can heart all I want, nothing is being added in the collections view...
Cannot say if it is because I am using the dealers account. It might help to do a reset, but this I will not do on the loaner :)
One thing I am missing really bad though. When browsing through albums in the collection, or "exploring" new albums, it is a pain in the a.. that I cannot se what song and artist is currently playing, I constantly need to flip to the "now playing" page and back again. Even if I am browsing an album, and press a song, I cannot see the "active" song.
And one more thing, and this is just a getting used to, but something people I have shown it to has a hard time with, is that when browsing an album, it shows the list of songs to the right of the cover, but only 5 or 6, and nothing indicates that you should swipe left on the list to see the next 5-6 songs.
Almost all devices in the world swipe up/down in lists, or at least gives you indication that you should swipe left/right. It took me some time to figure out why all albums had so few songs :)
Not intuitive for people not knowing it, and using it without the manual.

If out of the shop: was the Moment factory reset? Were all NL devices from the dealers shop removed from the settings? If NOT you could end up with "trouble".

It was not factory reset, so I suspect it could be "confused" somehow.
When and if I decide to buy one at the end of this week, it off course will be brand new, and all should be good :) Might wait to buy until the SW has been released to the public, just to see if all are happy, or some other bad behaviour happens.

The public release will be the same as the one me and other have tested for a few weeks. So the risk for "other bad behaviour" should be minimal.
Does anyone know if the new software also has specific features for Deeper family?

I know, but... I work with SW daily, and I know that no matter how much we test, how much we "do betas" and so on, when something comes out to many many users, stuff will show. But you are right, if I do not notice stuff now, the chance of bad stuff are minimal :)
I think I will finally pull the trigger :) Also, multiroom is not that important to me for now, so instead of connecting a connection hub and my tv, I have set the delay down to 50ms on the moment, this has solved my lip sync problems.
But just to be sure, I will borrow an M5 from my dealer tomorrow, just to se how bad the multiroom will perform with 50ms delay.
Do you know when the public SW will be available ?
