Hello,
I run the beta software on my moment and as I was browsing through my music on the jukebox the screen went crazy and it is just flashing now. Did a reset but with no luck. I can not even access the settings menu so I can do a factory reset.
Any ideas???
Guys, did anybody got any news from B&O on an updated beta which resolves our issues? I did not so far.... Still hoping

Thanks Jacob. Hope the same and that it resolves my and He ndrikks 19 issue as well. Can't wait to get my sub in the right corner in my new living room (through WISA) and get proper bass back.
Is there still come a "tap to Join" function on the Moment? Like the other multiroom products.
And a fix for showing the right Cover Art's?

Just that they are working really hard to get this issue resolved, the problem is that this is also in the middle of summer, and that also means that people are on holiday.. Let us hope they will have a solution very soon, I guess people are getting back from holiday soon. I do not have any specific details unfortunately...

I experienced the same issues you have described in your post. Months ago I spoke with Lyle about a expert mode and it‘s possible integration into the settings. I really don’t like the result of the recent expert mode. If you activate the expert mode, you will have to create a special folder with tiles for every artist on your DLNA collection. This procedure demands a massive effort and invest of time from the customer, if he owns a large collection. Instead of filling up the missing artists tiles from such folder after a normal harvest - you will have to create artist-tiles for every artist. If you decide to invest these huge efforts (search every artist, download/create/convert a artist-tile), B&O won’t give you the necessary specifications about the dimensions, the maximum file-size and supported file formats of the future artist tile. The expert mode was suposed to stop the never ending harvesting process and should make it easier to add missing artist tiles. This kind of “expert mode“ made it worse. You need to decide to have some missing artist tiles without the expert mode or you activate the expert-mode and you will have no artist-tiles at all. The harvesting isssue still remains and you won‘t have a stable collection. My collection, playlists are vanishing even if the “expert mode“ is activated.
The second thing is, this “expert mode“ demands a shared photos-folder. If you use a music-only DLNA solution as minimserver you will have no shared photos-folder. The expert mode will not work at all. A full DLNA-server-solution (Music, Photos, Videos) is mandatory.
Since months there are no responses to my beta-reports/mails from B&O anymore. I asked several times for a reason, why they stopped to response to reports (even if the reports including results of explicit given tasks) - no answer from Lyle about this topic.
Because of this recent attitude, I decided to stop testing and reporting. I invested a lot of unpaid time in the last years to support B&O to improve the BS-Moment. Now I am tired and not willing anymore. The given results and the recent treatment are not balancing my efforts. Buying the BS-Moment and believing it will leave the beta-status in a reasonable timeframe was a huge miscalculation and regret on my side. Some of you will say, this is just a matter of my pride. Maybe - but I am forced to use the Moment as Deezer only device - since the device is crippled with the latest Betas. I would gladly leave the beta group and downgrade to a stable working 2.x version - but even to this demand I get no responses from B&O.
Years ago some of you wrote, “I will buy the Moment instantly after the bugs will be fixed “- It seems B&O will never catch up to their promises and advertised specifications, when it comes to DLNA on the BS-Moment. In the light of recent additional bugs regarding speaker-issues and BeoMusic-App, I can not recommend to buy this device anymore.
I hope that Mr. andersons efforts to connect with his Beta-group regarding the Bang & Olufsen App will be fruitious. I really like, that he is willing to take a step back and start from scratch again, if the previous way seems to be a dead end.

Thanks for this comment, and your effort to write your experience with the Moment.
A couple of months ago, a B&O employe visited my house on behalf of Struer to check my Moment and how it reacts within my home network. He spend some hours checking everything, WiFi signal, DLNA, etc.. And leaves my house with the promise that this would give technicians in the factory a serious help.
Never heard any reply or even a thank you from Struer. And there has been no bettering in the daily use of this player.
So 2 months ago, I decided that i am done with the Moment and locked the player in the basement. It is now ready to been sold for a reasonable price.
Never again will I spend my hard earned money again on a network player from this brand and I will think twice before I step in another buy from them. They just cant keep up with the big boys.

thank you for your kind words and for posting your sad experiences too. I totally agree to sell the device. The sad thing is I am still on the latest buggy Beta. Therefore the BS- Moment is not sellable at all. Second reason to keep the Moment yet - I just extended my Deezer subscription for the BS-Moment until next year -for using Deezer, the Device is decent enough.
I truly remember your first posts in Hiorts “One month with the moment“ in march 2015. Since then you and hiort were a very helpfull source of wisdom. I joined the BS-Moment-owner-club some days later and wrote some glowing reports, manuals and bad experiences in the following years.
Now we are 2 “veterans“ fooled by false advertisings and promises from B&O. Still, isn‘t it sad, that it is somehow comforting to know, that I am not alone with my experiences. Nowadays, that is the way - how the luxury brand is handled. What angries me the most is the fact, that this kind of B&O-support harms their own dealership deeply.
Norwin:Would be nice for us beta testers to get a function to downgrade to any of the former versions. if you activate the “expert mode“ the whole already processed database including all artist-tiles from your own DLNA will be “cleared/erased“. The harvesting process starts new and in the end you will have the artist-tiles from deezer only. Not one artist-tile from your own DLNA-collection! If you want to have for your DLNA-collection artist-tiles too, you will have to create said shared folder and place immages from the artists in it by yourself. A lot of work, if your DLNA-collection exceeds more than 2000 artists. Btw. The harvesting/ processing of the content seems never to cease. After a while your content is vanishing because of the never ending processes.

I just bought a new Beosound Moment for my Beolab 5 urrgh.
Does anyone know whether Deezer Elite support will ever be in the pipeline?
This might negate the need for a DLNA server.

I think your expectations are correct. Yesterday evening I did a fresh start by selecting the Expert Mode and Rebuilding the library. While it is still in progress due to the large size of my library, I can see the only Artist Image i have loaded in my DLNA Photo, but I'm also seeing other artists images flinked to artists that I have in my own library. I'll update later as for now there are more artists without an image than with.
I own a BeoSound 5 with BeoMaster 5 and circa 300 albums in the BM5.
I'd like to buy a moment and use the BM5 as NAS.
Apparently, the harvesting processing trouble appears for large music collection (i believe, can you confirm?)
Do you think the harvesting problem woud be still there with my little albums collection?
And i will use Deezer for other artists...

I've tried 4 times on several Servers (2 NAS, Twonky, minimServer, ) to get a different result, than the described above. I saw only artist Images, which were uploaded in DLNA Photo. Of course, if I have the same Artist in DLNA (local) and Deezer, the Deezer artist Image is there - but the tile of the same artist from my own content stays grey (empty) - because of the lack of a picture in the DLNA Photo-folder. It will show up, if I create a image for this artist myself. With a large collection - to much workload for me.
I am sure you will recognize, that your playlists and content will continue to vanish, if the never ending harvesting process kicks in. That is really anoying.
The goal of the expert mode was to reduce the harvesting processing time for music-experts or better very tidy file-nerds (like me) with large collections, who had every possible tag (genre, album, title, artist, year, cover....) integrated in their music-files. Sadly the harvesting process took days for just 28000 tracks - in my case.

What a pity all these software problems with such a beautiful product like the Moment!
I really like the concept.
Did you test the Moment without adding your local collection, only with Deezer (and vice-versa)?
And without the use of playlists?
It's ridiculous that they can't fix problems with DLNA Harvesting and Album Art.
Espacially collection CD's give me te wrong covers, each time i select a Collect CD, it's a suprise what cover it shows. It shows covers not that one is in my collection, on my NAS of has the same category....
But in the X-App it's shows always right.......
Overall the Moment works very well, like to see a "Tap to Join'' function and gapless playback (Deezer issue i understand).

Since the start of the beta program (1,5 year ago) my Moment works without issues, no harvesting problems, no corrupt databases,............This was my opinion 1,5 years ago also. Just a thought: how did you tag your music files?
In general: if one uses for example higher resolutions covers, the harvesting seems to be tedious (an old issue even notable on the BS5's)
The covers used in my collection have resolutions of, or smaller than 1000x1000.
The general rule I experienced is the bigger the tag part of the music files the harder the proces. I had covers of 3000x3000 which seem impossible to be processed bij the Moment (and the BS5e). I replaced the covers with smaller ones, but the files kept the same size. The Moment & BS5e couldn't read them either. Than I deleted all the tag info saved the files again (sizes went down) and placed the tag info again. The Moment / BS5e could read the files.
Note: only one Album could slow down the overal harvesting process tremendously
If you replace your covers with smaller ones use mp3tag.
Deleted the covers,convert them with dbpoweramp to wav and then to flac again.
Now you can place the correct cover in it.
If you don't convert them to wav and flac the old cover stays in the file.

Let's hope the next beta update will blow us away and we can move on. I like the concept of the Moment and am happy with it when it works although I am really missing Deezer Elite. I signed up for the beta track and am fully aware I have to deal with issues now and then in order to help improve this product to a stage we're all happy. Guess the holiday break as well as the launch of Beolab 50 kept Lyle and the team busy updating software on other products. Hope they can go full speed again on making the Moment better. I'm positive although I understand it's difficult for some of us with especially large music libraries and the expectations B&O set with people at the time of launching the product and the beta track.

Beroli:Hi Norwin, if I remember right, you own your Moment since August 2016. Therefore I do understand your fresh optimism and patience. Hold Fast to it! I knew why I signed up for the Beta. I had hopes these tests would speed up the development of the Device. At least I expected a proper communication and help, if a Beta is crippeling the Device. We paid a premium to use the device. Now we are so desperate, that we sign up to be guinea pigs, just to improve our property. We try to find excuses for B&O, like: new upcoming products, other software issues with other devices, holiday, small company ... . We hope, that B&O will be great again, like the company we fell in love a long time ago. We all know about the troubles B&O faces with software - but still we support B&O and buy their products. At least for this “bravery“ we deserve a proper treatment. I regret for myself, that I have not returned the device and listened to the promisses, that the next update will finally keep up to the advertised features. I expected a professional Beta-Test - but there are no failsafes or downgrade-possibilities in place with B&O. My patience is gone. Therefore I demanded to leave the Beta-group and a downgrade to a stable version, no response from B&O. I would gladly take my money back and move on instead of wasting more time. Cheers Beroli
