Hiort:

Can anyone advise on where to put the folder with artist art? Can that be a folder under "MUSIC" on the DLNA / NAS?

Same here.... Some advice

I have a Folder; ''Album Art" under, '' MUSIC"

Is it better to put this Folder under "PHOTOS"?

And what Tags should it have? I have add my cover arts manually by Itunes and by Audio Station on my Synology, still same problems by a few Cover arts...

It works for me.

You need 2.2, Expert Mode, a DLNA Photo service and a directory with the correct name (check the name in the setup menu, I'm not close to my Moment) that you place at the root of your DLNA photo library with artists picture in it.

BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1

Hopefully B&O brings a final update soon!

How have you managed your Music files? By Itunes? Is the Moment selecting these Cover Arts automatically by (artist/album) name from the Photo album? Do you name Covers arts exactly as the Album titles?

Or have you add it manually (like Itunes or Audiostation on Synology)?

The new expert mode brings Artists image user management, not Album cover management. Looks like you are confusing both.

Personally I manage my collection with iTunes and the album tags, including covers with another app (Metadatics on OSX) and it works fine for the Moment.

Metadatics looks good so as i can see.

My (DLNA) Artist covers are shown well, but tapping on it, i think the Moment took some random covers from Deezer for a few albums of my collection

That's what I did. Maybe the photo folder on m Synology NAS was wrongly configured. Anyway, I'm fine with letting Moment display a album cover if no artist art is available.

If Moment cannot find Artist art from Gracenote for an artist in your collection, a random album cover is chosen from the albums you have in the metadata.

Back to 2.1 market release! Speakers are ok, no more pshhhhttttttttt, listening to LP through Line-In, all items have a cover (artist or album), harvesting of 35k tracks is complete including Moods .... pur bonheur!

The benefit of the 2.2 adventure is that I introduced my TR1 back in the infrastructure!
BS Moment is wired to it as well as my internet provider player box via SPDIF: I can now share my BL 18/19 between these two devices and stream TV sound, movie sound, Deezer app sound including Lyrics on the screen .... no need for an ECLIPSE :-)

This morning, all of my DLNA content had completely vanished. The Moment had to do another harvesting to get it back. B&O clearly has some work to do to iron out these bugs.

Yep, this is clearly a bug. The way I interpret it based on my observations is the following:

When you start playing DLNA tracks, you may have a native/default playlist on the DLNA server that updates itself to reflect the latest played track or the most played track.
The Moment sees it as a DLNA status change and starts a DLNA rescan, which is useless in this case, and is an endless process, using CPU and network resources which sometimes impacts music streaming flow.
It happens also that instead of doing a simple rescan, the Moment starts a Fullscan which wipes the local DLNA collection on the JB until it is fully rebuilt. When you have a large collection, you clearly see the hit.

If B&O manages to implement a user controlled rescan, then we should see this problem disappear as they cannot control all possible DLNA servers' behavior ( I asked Twonky support if we could envisage a setup where default playlists would be optional, answer is no).

2.2 is supposed to introduce the DLNA expert mode where you can set the DLNA rescan manual.

After hours of harvesting the DLNA collection again, my full 18K songs were restored. JUST TO BE IMMEDIATELY LOST BY ANOTHER HARVESTING that reduced this to only 341 tracks!!! This is absolutely insane that the development team has been silent for months and hasn't fixed this issue.

I just have to laugh when I think of an earlier post that suggested the development team was working on a facial recognition feature. They can't even get the harvesting issue fixed!

Furthermore, it adds insult to injury that the DLNA server is B&O's very own BeoMaster 5. Go right ahead, B&O, and pass the blame on to the maker of the DLNA server! Oh wait, that's YOU, B&O!

New beta 2.2.0.3722 for the JB is out.

Don‘t know what they‘ve changed.

Experienced the same issues regarding TuneIn-login (shows failed login, but if you skip the login-procedure afterwards, you will see that the login was of course successful.). Missing (greyed out) inner and middle ring on the mood-wheel. New bug in the network-settings: missing wifi quality indicator in the section Soundheart and Jukebox.

Logfile sent.

Deezer-content is snappy and fast available as usual. Volume level is easy to control. Download of Artist-tiles very fast.

Don‘t know, if Deezer is now Deezer hifi.

DLNA not tested.

Dear badgersurf,

The constant harvesting happens with DLNA-content - and I wrote that I have not tested the new version with DLNA. Wink The last beta-update was months ago. If someone thought B&O used the time to solve known issues, you will be disappointed. Long known issues, I have described in my previous post above are still there. New bugs were introduced. I am afraid, that I will waste again days with the testing of the BS-Moment DLNA capabilities without any improvements in this matter. [:\'(]

....or simply sit down and listen to the music - Deezer has plenty to offer.

I don't get it.

I've been added as beta-tester earlier this year  .Disabled automatic software-update. (that helps to avoid buggy released software)

Had for a short period the "Spotify Connect" feature, (which was one of the main promised features which leds to the purchase).

But every time I manually checked, I got for the past months the "your software is up to date" message.

Contributed several bugs and tips, but to no avail.

I know there are several groups of testers with different softwareversions, but the promised 2.2 beta with Spotify Connect still isn't released.

Sending short emails asking for status doesn't help either.

Am I still a beta-tester? I don't know.

Try to get out too for months. This update came by surprise. Inner and middle ring are now working. Maybe there is a delay after the first processing of the deezer content.

eMails are unanswered for months too.

@MM enjoy is somehow the wrong word.

Did the update, usual freaking feeling when the JB resumes with an exclamation mark in a triangle, hard reset several times to get it back (not even sure that the paper clip reset is the reason for returning back to life, or if I'm not patient enough), when JB is back to life, the alu wheel is not responsive (as usual after an update), a latest paper clip reset to be fully back in order!

No visible change or improvement, same bugs are carried from previous version, i.e. Wifi signal strength no longer present

Wait & See

Does this update sort out the constant harvesting of your own content?

Dear badgersurf, MM

I got curious and decided to run a test about the DLNA capabilities of the latest Beta on the BS-Moment. After the first harvesting and enriching process of my content on a synology NAS (running minimserver) was finished yesterday, no second or third harvesting processes kicked in. Therefore my whole content including all playlists is accessible (and still is) Just some artist tiles are missing - but it seems they will be added over the upcoming days while browsing through the content.

This is for now a vast improvement ... but I need to wait some more days/weeks until I am sure that this major issue is now finally resolved. You should try it too. MM thanks for the encouragement.

Cheers Beroli

No, the "constant" harvesting continues as long as you play DLNA and if your DLNA server content has changed e.g. a playlist content change like last played, recently played, most played ....

Also, harvesting logic is not a JB function but a SH one to my point of view.

I never changed my DLNA-content on the Servers in the last years - since I stream new stuff with deezer only. I wanted to have a fixed/constant collection, to avoid, that B&O blames me for having issues with new software versions. The latest update for the JB only, fixed in my case the constant harvesting issue. All my content is accessible after only one harvesting and enriching process (after a factory reset). Before the last update, the harvesting message never disappeared after the second/third harvest/enriching process kicked in, even if the previous task was not finished. Now I can listen to DLNA-content without starting a next harvesting process. Lyle told me once, that the harvesting process is a joint one and not limited to the soundheart only. Maybe the latest update changed the automatic timeframes between these harvests. Who knows, since there is no communication between B&O and Betatesters anymore.

Can't tell, but I usually control the Moment activity through the following URL http://<SH IP>:8080/BeoNotify/Notifications and trust me, some time after the Moment has started playing DLNA tracks, DLNA reHarvesting starts and sometime fullHarvesting instead which from time to time perturbates the JB interface resulting in local Music no longer being displayed until the cycle finishes.

You described exactly the behaviour in the previous version. May I ask, on which version you are right now on SH and J?. Now I can listen DLNA-content for hours - no harvest kicks in. We will see. I can asure you, as a „victim“ of the previous betas, I know exactly what you are talking about

Hi Beroli

SH=2.1.14259.227545617
JB=2.2.0.3722

Twonky 8.4.1 pkg on QNAP

After 2 DLNA tracks played I checked the status: {"state":"harvestRescanInProgress","subState":"harvesting","progress":18," which correlates with the status displayed in the JB notification screen.

Edit: 30' later, a full scan has started: {"state":"harvestFulLScanInProgress","subState":"harvesting","progress":10,"

Ok, I rolled back to SH 2.1 due to the speakers/line-in issues on some devices so I had no opportunity to test the DLNA behavior, but 2.2 is indeed meant to kill all these DLNA issues, specially for the large ones like mine.

So we cannot compare our setups for now.

It would be interesting that the harvesting process is not automatic.

A bit like in the BeoSound 5, the scan of the tracks is only made by the user with BeoPlayer.

After that, MOTS analyse the new tracks and that's all.

Hi mbolo01,

this is not quite correct. In the current 2.2 Beta there is are no possibilities in the standard settings to start a rescan, when the content is changed. There is only a switch in the DLNA content to reset the whole database AND do a new rescan afterwards.

To switch of the automatic rescan is possible in the expert mode only - but then you will have to live with missing artist tiles. You need to create a separate artist tile folder. Now imagine you have 700—1000 artists in your database. Searching images, create tiles...that is a very demanding workload. Maybe for the winter.

I would be happy, if the automatic rescan is switched of permanent an if there were button/switches to rescan/enriching for new content without deleting the whole database in the standard setting. That would be my dream setting

Cheers Beroli

I didn't go into the details, but yes you are right, you have to activate the Expert mode in 2.2 to disable automatic harvesting, and my experience with 2.2 before I rolled back to 2.1 is that the Artist cover are coming at the end of the day, slowly but surely, but it takes an incredible time for large libraries like mine, unacceptable I must admit.

Hopefully B&O will take almost the same strategy for Artist images processing than the 2.1 one, i.e. try (1) user DLNA published artist image, (2) if not found substitute with artist album cover and (3) finally try Gracenote, this will do the job in my opinion .....They could even drop the user managed artist image, I don't think the community will contest it.

I agree with you, I suggested to Lyle a while ago a refresh button on the JB interface to manually control the harvesting, there is room for that on the upper right side of the JB

Scenario: you add new content to your DLNA collection, when you wish to incorporate it in the BS Moment database you press refresh DLNA collection pictogram on the JB when it is appropriate. In the mean time you can use the App to play the new content until it is integrated, searchable and Mood-classified by the Moment.

I suggested to Lyle a while ago a refresh button on the JB interface to manually control the harvesting, there is room for that on the upper right side of the JB

Cheers

Totally agree with you, suggested the same but weren‘t heard.

your scenario should be the way, hpw to handle it - usually the owner of the dlna-collection knows when he had done some changes. Therefore, there is no need for a automatic rescan for DLNA. I think most of the users with large collections, just want to keep to have theor beloved music - since we spent a lot of time collecting it. For the new stuf I just use Deezer.

Cheers
