Hi Marexy

BeoPlay A8 Mk1 (2911 - 2922)

BeoPlay A8 Mk2 (2959 - 2969)

Hi Millemissen

You posted this on BeoWorld in August 2013:

"yes - the MK2 is the soon coming upgrade of the recent A8 - to be introduced when the MK1 is sold out.

The price will remain unchanged.

It will have DLNA support as well and a new wireless setup technology called Wireless Network Login Sharing (WNLS) - just as the A9 has.

The remote and the wallbracket isn't included any longer (sold seperately).

The lightning connector will be included with the 30 pin connector sold seperately.

A new petroleum blue colour will be introduced.

And the packaging will be changed.

Greetings Millemissen"

Thany guys ..

ok..some more stupid question..

I connect Beoplay A8  to mains..it plays via RCA and iphone ..no problem.

White LED at the back start to blinking and after one minute it is solid white..ok..as it should be.

but.. i can not see A8 on my wifi connections on the phone...why ?

and if u plug JR45 it's the same ...no blinking led's on JR45 connector at he back nf A8.

They should blink or not ?

What am i doing wrong ?

Hi marexy,

first - what do you mean by ‘’plug JR45’?

I suppose you mean ‘RJ45’, but for what - what do you want to acchieve by that?

If you mean a network cable connected to the network, that you also want to use for the wifi connection afterwards, you probably have to do so in order to setup the device.

This was the case with the earlier sw-versions....if I remember well.

The original video from B&O is not available anymore.

Maybe this video - danish language, however - can help you.

Note: the BeoSetup app is not available any longer, but the Bang & Olufsen app can help you configuring the device.

Please report back!

Ok..it is so..

When i pug mains ..230v at A8..and klik button for WI-FI  at the bac of iphone dock..or..just wait ..white led flashes for one minute and than white lite is solid and i hear soud as connected to wi-fi

..but  i can not see my A8 at WI-FI network.

so no need for LAN  JR45 connection ?

I wish to play via WI-FI  via airpaly

Did you watch that video - should be understandable even without understanding danish.

As far as I can judge it, the sw seems to be rather old - the earlier sw versions did not allow for a direct configuration of the wifi.

Here are two further documents.....in english.

One that explains how to reset the device - the other how to do an update.

http://bogo.custhelp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/6989/~/how-do-i-reset-beoplay-a8-to-factory-settings%3F

http://bogo.custhelp.com/euf/generated/optimized/1563555712/themes/standard/

Note: in any case your A8 must be connected to your homenetwork with a network cable.

P.S. The problem is, that almost any guide you can find on the internet describes how to handle the later versions of the A8.

Good luck and please report back.

Hi

I installed itunes on my pc through which I now see the A8 on the net.
I can play music through iTunes.
Still, I can't see the A8 on WIFI on my Android or iphone 4S.

Well, if you can play from iTunes to the A8 (using AirPlay I suppose), the A8 must be on the same network as your pc.

You won’t be able to play to the A8 this way from your Android device, since Android has no (native) support for AirPlay.

Don’t you see the A8 as a receiver, when you look for AirPlay devices in a music app on the iPhone?

Hi

Thanks

all working fine now ?

Just need to reset my Iphone 4S, reset A8, and activate airplay and conected A8 with LAN cable.

It works. But ..is it possible to work via Airplay if not conncted  with LAN cable ?

Must say ...the sound is much better as I expected :)

Too bad it's not the DLNA version

Can I  listen to music from my NAS server.. somehow ?
