what are the limitations of the BeoMusic iPhone app? Is it similar to Airplay? (16-bit, 44,100 kHz)
I have lossless music on my phone and would like to know if I can stream it to my Beoplay A9 and A6 without downsampling.
also since the BeoMusic app uses the built in Music library, does it update soundtrack play count?
yep, that is the reason I'm looking into the beomusic app, because of the restrictions of airplay.
would be nice to know if the beomusic app lets you stream at least CD quality.
it's stored on my iPhone.
No transcoding/downsampling happens. The Beoplay will gets the files direct from the iPhone in whatever format they're in. I can't say for certain, but I don't think the play count gets updated (because they aren't played on the iPhone).
currently i can stream music via airplay to both of my speakers using iTunes on my iMac. I have an Apple TV but I never tried with it.
but would be so cool to use the one touch join feature and as you said earlier, its not possible with airplay, so I have to switch to the beomusic app.
are you sure about that? do you have any source for this?
Psynapse:B&O's solution can handle anything above CD quality
but I do not know if a HD stream from an iPhone will reach the A9 as a HD stream
