I went through a whole ordeal with B&O on the phone getting my new M5 connected to my wifi network (ended up using BeoSetup....which is mentioned nowhere in the manual).

I can now using Google Cast, etc., but I can't get the M5 added to my devices in the Beoplay app. I'd like to be able to adjust the equalizer and room adjustment settings.

Can anyone help? The error message I get says: "Products doesn't seem to be available on this WiFi. Connect the phone to the same WiFi as the products..."

Of course, I am connect to the same network - I only have one wifi network.

I'm very frustrated. :/

M5 not able to be connected to the Beoplay app only the BeoMusic/set up apps. Using beomusic under product settings you can adjust bass & treble though. Hope that helps.

I don't understand - the instruction manual specifically says to use the Beoplay App - plus I can't locate any EQ settings in the Beomusic app (am I missing something?)

It's a Beoplay products - why wouldn't you be able to use the Beoplay app?

I have connected the speaker with both Bluetooth and Ethernet. No success with the Beoplay app. :(

I have go to the finalisation process in the BeoPlay app but it just hangs. I have successfully setup two units via BeoSetup app. There sound adjustments for Bass, Treble and Loudness should feature in a new software update. I currently find the M5 to overpowering with the Bass.

I also find the bass over powering....I'd really like to be able to adjust it.

Hi,

check, that you have the latest version of the App. They added support for the M5 in their last update.

I had the same issue, after pairing the M5 with may iPad (Bluetooth Options) the App found the M5.

But there is no bass or treble setting, just  3 options for the place: corner, wall, free.

My M5 in the kitchen is still to bass heavy.  Powered up the toast is 'jumping high and low', everything nearby is dancing. I tried all options.

May be the next firmware will have more options.

Try to pair the M5 again in Blutooth setting from your ipad. (disconnect and pair again)

Close the Beoaplay App (wipe it out after doubleclick the home buton)

Reopen the app, distance between M5 and Ipad / iPhone should not more than 2-3 m.

This works for me.

I have the very same problem. I have tried just about everything to connect the M5 to the BeoPlay app. I keep receiving the exact same erroer "Product doesnt seem..."

I am just about to return the product, since I is to no good use like this.

Did anyone find a solution? I have also tried the BeoMusic app - doesn't work. Of course all devices are connected to the same WiFi. To me it seems it is the app that causes the problem.

I am using Android. Does anyone have any experience in IOS instead?

Hi,

Beomusic app on Android is deprecated and has some major bugs.

Use 'Bang & Olufsen' app from Playstore. This works for my A6, M5 and Beosound 2 and Beolink BL/NL

On iPhone and iPad all apps are working fine so far. I had some minor issues (app did not find my products) before i made a setup with an own subnet for the B&O products through an extra WIFI router.

Is it possible to connect the M5 via Bluetooth and your android device? Try this first!

M5 has built in chromecast abilities, so casting music from android must be possible, since this is a google service.

Try to reset the device with the litte button an the bottom of the M5.

M5 has an web interface, look into your router log and see which ip-address the M5 got.

Type this into your browser which is connected to the same network e.g.: http://192.168.0.57

The M5 config page schould appear.

Beoplay App will connect though Bluetooth with M5 not WIFI.

Is Bluetooth enabled on your Device?

Can you see the M5 in Bluetooth scan?

If yes, pair it and try to restart Beoplay app.

If you have Android 6 the app stays in background  when hitting the Exit or Back key.

Press the Home or other button to open the 'Taskmanager', use 'x' to end the beoplay app, then restart the app.

Try to clear the cache, using Settings/Apps/  => Beoplay => Storage=> Clear Data or Clear Cache.

A FORCE Stop may be useful as well.

Hope,this helps.

On 4.4 Andoid there are Bluetooth issues, a restart of the device could solve the problem.

Hi,

i have tried the BeoPlay App now on some Android machines. I can assure, that it works on none of them.

The M5 was always found but when you try to connect the 'WIFI error' was thrown.

On Android >= 6 the app sometimes crashes.

Very, very disappointing, Bang & Olufsen.

(I love my old ML network, quick response and never failed)

The new beta Bang & Olufsen app works much better (however, does not find ML/NL gateway :-) ), but you cannot change M5 sound settings yet.

You have to switch to iOS, i can confirm that this works with M5.

My dealer told me, that sound setting will be added soon in one of the next updates.

I bought an M5 as an early birthday present for our daughter, and I have been trying to get it to work with Android also. Conclusion: its a total failure... After a loooong wait you get finally your Bluetooth phone connected to the M5, next you notice that using the Androids BeoPlay app for a setup is not working.

Luckily I have an iPad in the home and the M5s setup process has been working as a charm on this tablet. The first setup, playing individually and in Multiroom with the iOS Beomusic app has giving me no problem at all. What a relieve!

Some other problems... The M5 is not able to connect with the Androids Beomusic app?

I list it:

- Not usable on the Android Beomusic app

- Working on the new Android app, but this is still in Beta form and not fully usable.

- Setup is not fluid working as should on the Android Beoplay app.

- In using the new Android app, this app is disturbing other Multiroom products in your home (your favorite TuneIn list... on other Multiroom products)

- In the latest software update they removed the possibility to pair it with a wheelie remote.

What kind of a new product launch is this for the latest new speaker at B&O? Or needed they something new to present at the CES fare, even although it is not completely finished.

I agree the M5 and the Beoplay app are pants. After 6 weeks I have never had it working with Tune in Radio properly....Just found out that an old android phone won't run the latest app and there still is't one for an iPad....WHAT...

Just to say that you are not alone......There are lots of hidden issues with this product...e.g. the latest app is not available for an iPad, just the iPhone. My M5 is flashing red Now......
