I got a used Beocom 4 and continue to get the error message "connect to base." I replaced the battery, turned off the phone overnight, and continue to get this same error message. I also replaced the ac adapter and now don't know what to do. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Well you may have been sold a pup of course, but assuming not, you need the BeoCom 4 Service Software - I would suggest taking it to a dealer who will have this on his computer - It allows you to reset the base and open it to register the handset.

Thanks. I replaced the battery myself so this is great advice. I will keep my fingers crossed that flashing will fix the phone:-)
One other question: can they flash the non-Bang and Olufsen battery (that I replaced when my parents gave it to me). Or will I need a battery too? Flashing the phone is only $45.
Have you connected the line input on the 3-way terminal?
