Does BS3 support HDMI ARC - I am hoping to connect my TV HDMI ARC enables to BS3 HDMI input - in hopes to capture the audio from the smart tv apps while I watch 4k video - I am referring to the Netflix, Amazon Prime etc apps on the TV directly

The 'tv' used with the BSys3 is just a display without any built-in sources.

There was/is no need for ARC support.

All sources are built-in or connected to the BSys3 and the audio part stays in the BSys3 for processing.

Support for ARC came with HDMI 1.4.

Since the output port of your BSys3 is DVI, you would not have any chance anyway.

Only way to go - if you choose that - is to use a coax-digital or a HDMI-in for the sound.....

....with all the troubles of configuring and daily controls, that you would get this way.

Maybe OldJack could tell us about how he manages his setup?

I use a Sony display as screen. Digital audio into BS3 for sound - for TV apps only. Can be controlled via Lintronic (TV button on Beo 4). But ever since I got an Amazon Fire TV I use that one connected to BS3.

Living Room: Beosystem 4, Beolab 7-2 (Center), Beolab 9 (Fronts), Beolab 8000 (Rears), no Subwoofer. Screen: Sony KD-85XH9096
Dining Room: Beosound Essence MK II with Beolab 4000 on stands, fed by Amazon Echo Show 8
Home Cinema: Beosystem 4, Beolab 7-4 (Center), Beolab 1 (Fronts), Beolab 4000 (Rears). Projector: Sony VPL-HW55
Home Office: Beosystem 3, Beolab 7-4, Beolab 5000, Screen: Sony KD-55XH9005 on Beovision 7-40 stand, ML to Beosound 9000 MK3 and Beosound 5/Beomaster 5 (1 TB SSD version)
Bedroom: Sony KD-65XH9077, Beosound Essence MK II with Beolab 6002 and Beolab 11 (all white, wall-mounted)

In storage: Beolab 5000/Beomaster 5000 (1960s).

@OldJack

Sure -probably a newer version.

But you can not use the output - you must use an input, like you do (= the coax digital), when connecting the audio from the tv.
