Hi - does anyone know if the AUX socket on a Beolink Active can give line out? What I am trying to do is connect my BM6000 (1980's model) to my masterlink system - but I don't want to control volume as this will be on the BM6000 - the intention being that if connected to the TP1 input I will be able to access all the masterlink stuff using a beo4 and listen to them through the BM6000
Or is there is any line out from Beolink converter?
I am slightly confused by your post: the Beolink Active has two Powerlink sockets (there is no AUX socket). Newer Beolink Actives (where one of the PL sockets is also marked 'PC') can be used to provide a local source input, but this will not be relayed over Masterlink to other rooms.
Okay I think I understand now! You want to use the BM6000 as a local amplifier in lieu of PL speakers. You should be able to treat the PL socket on the Active as a output and connect direct to the TP1 or 2 inputs of the BM6000. The only problem is that this is a variable output, using the volume control via a Beo4 to the IR receiver.
Hence you will need to experiment with volume levels between the Active and the BM6000. Ideally, find a volume setting on the Active that suits the BM6000, and then store using the SOUND STORE function. Then make sure that you are only using the Beo4 for source selection.
Of course if you are also using the 'IR Code Converter' with the BM6000 (which allows it to work with Beo4) then you will also have a conflict of IR signals, but there is a workaround using the LINK (OPTION 4) function of the Active.

Yes but you would not be able to access it without datalink, and I don't think BM6000 would be compatible (but I could be wrong!)
Thank Guy - yes, I thought about Powerlink and use the BM6000 remote control - I wondered if there was some special wiring required in the DIN plug for the PC socket and if that maybe gave line out?
Hi Andrew,
Yes, the PC socket on the Active can be used as an input or an output, although it will not send sound to other rooms over Masterlink (only to the speakers connected directly to the Active in that room).
The PC socket has special wiring, which is different for each version of Active (types 161x and 163x). Please check which version of Active you have, I stock the specially wired PC socket input cables here in both versions:-

This cable has RCA plugs fitted, but I can wired this for any connection type on request, or provide a cable to connect from the PC socket as an output to the Beomaster if you prefer.
Kind regards, Steve.
