Hello beoteam

I have today received my beautiful CX50's from Lifestyle and they are perfect.
Last week I received my Passive from Ebay and Today the cables from Steve @ Sounds Heavenly to connect the Essence to the Passive.

Yesterday I ordered an Essence MK2 and KaBoom the lead time is currently 22nd Feb.

It has knocked me off my happy place.

Think I need to source a 5Pin Din cable to make it into a Headphone Jack and Trigger cable.

Nearly there

Sounds good!

What's the 'trigger cable' for?  Don't you just need an RJ45 to Powerlink?

Hello Guy

I have the cable already for the passive to the essence but the essence wont arrive for some weeks.

I would like to perhaps use the passive with a cable for audio from my iphone but the cable needs a triggar to switch the passive on and off.

Only a temp solution

Oh I see.  Makes perfect sense.  Did you get rid of your Playmaker or did you never have one?

Never had one.

I am like a child when I get something new I want to play Now Now Now and cannot wait.

I don't even have an old powerlink cable or I would hook them up to my V1 for a short time.

Has Steve at Sounds Heavenly not produced an Apple Lightning to PowerLink (with built in trigger) cable yet? Smile

Yeah they have one but it's £50 and I only need it until the Essence arrives so seems a waste of money as it would just end up on eBay

You do have BS and/or BV with PL.

Connect the Passive with PL (fully wired to be sure the Passive is triggered) to f.e. the BS. Connect the Voxes to the Passive. Start listening

CX50 connected to the Beolink Passive and tested with the moment.

CX50's are a lovely looking speaker but don't pack much Bass. I will test the settings when I receive my essence but when on the moment they were lacking bass

One thing to note is the sound from the CX50's feels warm and extremely clear.

Just need to wait now for my Essence which will hide on the cabinet next to the passive ready to fill my kitchen with sound.

The CX50 is a small speaker - don't expect much bas from them.

Way back then it was launched in a combination with the Cona (the passive sub).

If you could get hold on one of those, it surely would help.

However, where should one place that in a kitchen ;-(

P.S. did you have a look at the speaker units in the 50'es?

Are they still fine?

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Hello MM

I don't think I will need to much bass one because of the next door people's and two when I find a new job and move house they will end up in the bathroom or en-suite so not to much bass would be needed.

A cona would be amazing but as you say not practical for he kitchen.

The drivers on the 50's are perfect I picked them up from Matt / Lee at Lifestyle and they were / are in amazing condition.

Ok today I made a temp cable to switch on the passive from a USB phone cable and a headphone jack

It works well until my Essence arrives

Weird thing!

When I switch the Apple plug on the amp comes on Big Smile when I switch if off the amp does not go off. Listening I can hear the amp is still on and speakers buzz

So switching off the Apple iPhone plug does not shut off the amp. The only thing that tells the amp to switch off is to pull the USB cable from the Apple plug.

Any thoughts?

Sean

You need a cable like this http://soundsheavenly.com/input/75--trigger-beolink-trs-.html

I know I know. I don't want to buy a cable as it's short term as my Essence will arrive in two weeks to control it. This is only a temp solution

Hello All

My essence arrived today and I will be connecting it up shortly when I arrive home.

I have a question, which speaker should be chosen in the list when using a Passive and CX50?

I could use Beovox 1 would that be right, I dont want to limit any bass.

Also on the Beomusic app it shows spotify and Chromecast even know I have disabled them as local devices, How can these be removed.

Excited Sean

Ok I love this thing already.

Music in my kitchen, Multiroom works really well

I have set it up with Beovox1 as the CX50 is not in the list.

Loudness set to on with bass at +5

I have noticed that the TuneIn volume is significantly lower than Deezer.

Pairing of the remote went well and I will watch out for it dropping off

I now have a new zone appearing on my BLGW too Big SmileBig Smile

Congrats Sean,

I'm using ceiling speakers from B&W, and have pointed the Essence to Beovox 2.

But if I'm now pointing to BL3 or any other speaker, I don't hear a difference. My guess is that this setting does not matter if you're using a Passive amp.
