Hi guys,

Bang & Olufsen has been featured prominently in popular culture for decades. This is a thread dedicated to the appearance of products in movies, on TV and elsewhere.

I was reminded of the breadth of the B&O appeal yesterday when I saw a crazy clip from Austin Powers 2 (1999) where our hero plays chess with Ivana Humpalot. In the background BS9000 + BL8000. Highest fashion at the time.

Big SmileBig SmileBig Smile

I know there are many more legendary appearances.

I for example remember a BeoCom phone in American Psycho that was anachronistic to the time portrayed in the movie.

Anyway. Do post - preferably with pictures - and remember to name the source with title and year. Could be good fun as a supplement to the Flash your B&O-thread.

I was thinking the same thing just the other day. One scene comes to mind, Alan Partridge in his hotel room. Ouverture and BL6000 I think.

What film is this?

American Psycho (2000). The book was written in 1991 and the story takes place in Manhattan in the late 80s. Yet the opening sequence features a wall base model of the BeoCom 1400 or 1500, which appeared around 1993.

Geeky, but I remember it annoyed me when I saw the movie many years ago.

It was an English series a few years ago called "I'm Alan Partridge"

This is not Alan Partridge but is the best view of the box from this clip. After all, we know that Bang & Olufsen is the star in any sceneWhistle

Gentlemen,

may I remind you that an almost identical thread already exists in the Music & Film subforum, which is more suited for this topic.

I'll move this thread over there later today (and merge them, if I can just figure out how that function actually works).

Excellent, Mika.

I searched for one, but was unable to find it. Hence the creation of this thread.

Doctor Who uses a Beogram 1202 in episode 1 of season 10. The distinctive platter can be seen as he lifts the album too.

There should be a B&O turntable in Alien Covenant. Ridley Scott rented one from me for the movie, although I'm yet to see it Yes - thumbs up

Also, House of Cards: Doug Stamper has a Beosound 5 and Beolab 8000s in his apartment

I wanted to write to the Coen brothers when the movie The Big Lebowski came out.

You have George Bush live on tv during the Gulf War (aka 1990/1991) and the Beosound 9000 came out in 1996...

Hello colleagues, my first post here. Noticed a couple of B&O products in a show called "Master of none", anyone could help me identify them? To me looks like a Beomaster 1900 and a Beogram 4000 turntable. Any expert ideas?

I think you're right although it's harder to tell with the turntable. And the table looks like it's sitting on an old all in one stereo unit, tuner, 8 track tape, and quad to boot!

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

The Russian singer Irina Saltykova plays herself in the famous movie "Brother 2" a 2000 Russian film. It is a sequel to the 1997 film Brother, taking place about a year after the first film. In a shot - Beovision Avant, Beolab 8000 and Beosound Ouverture.

The Running Man 1987.

Proffessor Sub Zero's coming. Main TV Screen in the Show Hall.

We know, that Beovision 4-65 started in 2005. But in Movie TV exactly the same.

Time Machine?

I'm not sure of this one, but in the first season episode of "Dexter" where they go to clean out his late father's house (tacky lower middle class collection of junk decor) there appears to be a B&O turntable on top of a cheap rack system stereo. I say that because, despite never getting a good look at it, it's very thin, and the dustcover seems flush with the front face of the bottom of the table.

Is that a BL6000 to the left hand side of the BV? Looks like one but also looks a little too large.
