The pickup on my 6002 record deck has recently developed a problem. As the arm moves across to the record it is in the play position (dropped) so it hits the edge of the LP - nasty. If anyone can advise on how to remedy this it would be much appreciated.

Interesting! The arms are controlled by a solenoid but the default position is up. Usually if the solenoid fails, it won't drop! I suggest therefore that you have a component failure in the electronics - the service manual is on site if you feel up to tackling it yourself - if you are useless at this like me a dealer should be able to help repair it!

Thank you Peter,

Strange that its not locked in the up position then. I'll have a play with it but if there is anything electronic I have a good local tech who could probably sort it.

Regards

David
