I have moved it to my bedroom for a little while.

The whole house is being renovated and rewired.

It doesn't work with the BS/BM5 when I press N.Music or N.Radio on the Beo4. I think I need the NL/ML Converter which I am waiting on. This should be here in a few days.

I turned AudioMaster off on the BS/BM5 and reset the whole system and plugged the powerlink into the 9000 but still no luck.

I love the the album naming! It looks wicked!!

Very cool Kiran, have one myself snd it's great. You know that you can turn the disc with B&O logo 90degrees so the text 'Bang & Olufsen' is positioned horizontally.

And, but now I am getting a bit OCD here, if you place your CD's just a tat neater (text or logo horizontal) , the CD mechanism will always put it back in same position. Also (if I am informed correct) when you put the cd back at s later stage.

Enjoy you BS 9000

Thank you for the letting me know about the circle to rotate the logo! I read up on this a year ago and totally forgot!

My discs stop 1 or 2 degrees out from the straight horizontal OCD placement that I did initially with all discs. This is annoying me. It is Mint and I got it from B&O Lincoln. Is there something wrong with it?

Furthermore, the 3rd CD was fine yesterday and now it stops upside down. I haven't taken it out and put it back in so will try this in a bit.

Can someone please confirm I need an NL/ML converter to get N.Music and N.Radio running on it. It does have the functionality. I made sure I bought model 2573 Mk3.

Nothing to worry about. A few degrees are acceptable according to the sw. It has all to do with the optics that measures the position.

It should work without as both are ML products.I've had it working, only combined with a BV9.

I realised I did not set the springs on the back under the rubber covers with the red key.

I have set this to floor standing vertical position and now everything works as it should. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I seem to remember a certain software level is needed for a 9000 to recognise Nmusic etc.

Someone else will remember which version and I believe it can be upgraded.

Correct. You need software version 2.21 for the mk1 and mk2.

The mk3 should work out of the box. The pictures of the display of the BS9000 confirm that.

N.Music works without the NL/ML Converter.

After setting the BM/BS5 to AudioMaster OFF, I switched off everything.

Powerlink speakers connected to BS9000. BM and BS9000 connected via ML.

I switched on the BS/BM5 first then waited 20 seconds then switched on the 9000.

It works. I have Mk3.

I brought it back downstairs to test out the BL3500 link speaker and also the cables I bought (RJ45 to Masterlink).

It all works. The time shows up on the 3500. There's also a timer setting and an alarm clock function. Wicked! It's also touch sensitive on parts of the display... I didn't know that ☺️

I'll keep it here with the Avant until the converter arrives. I don't mind listening to it through the 3500. I use the Beoremote One and it works fine.

It confirms my theory in running all RJ45 Wall Plates back to the server room and then patch them into RJ45 Masterlink Modules to create the Masterlinks.

It also confirms the cables work! Pictures below...

Parts of the BL3500.

The timer on/off function on the left side.

The on/off and source function on the right side. I've not been able to change sources yet. It switches on in Radio when you touch it. I may need to read the manual lol.

That is because it uses either what was previously selected. As the button says "Mute/Unmute" not change source.

To change the source you will need to use the remote control.

Yes the Beo4 makes all sources work including N.Music and N.Radio.

I read the manual that only Radio can be switched on up close as well as mute/unmute and timer on/off.

Digital audio recording was en vogue when it was released. Remember minidisc? I gather that would be why.

Or you could add a pair of BL5 or 90s...

Yes I had a Sony minidisc audio player.

Wicked thing had a nice cylinder type remote in between the headphones and plug in.

BL5... Now that would be nice... I hear they are now an end of life product. Some special line will be released to say goodbye...

BL90... Please give me some money πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

If your complete system meaning every product on the MasterLink is switched to standby, then you press the "Mute" button on the Beolab 3500 it will switch on the Radio as you stated. However, if say, a CD is playing in another room and the Beolab 3500 is in standby and you press the "Mute" button, then the Beolab 3500 will show CD, you will be listening to the CD already playing.

I agree !!

Have MK1 and MK2 and it's ultimate B&O product!

You do not need any other device to see in room.

My moto ...no cable to be seen!

Connected to BL12.3 + active subwoofer + additional amplifier  for dininig area with 2x ceiling spekars ..+ 2x outside spekars + outside in ground woofer.

As line in...google chromcast,TV, ipod, music server + media player..ect.

have no 5.1 or 7.1 ...no need for that  :)

Just enjoy stereo music ..that is it :)

Are we talking about the 3500?

I always found the sound to be a bit too tinny.

I have owned many B&O's but never had the luck of being able to own the Beosound 9000. I hope one day I'll find one....they pop very rarely in my country and if they do, the prices are ridiculous. Its definitely worth owning. An icon forever.

It was so beautiful with the Beolab 8000s in its heyday.

What are the best speakers for it today?

I use 4000s with mine but open for suggestions.

Doing a software chip upgrade and buying an NL/ML converter makes the 9000 the sexiest music system on the market that cannot be outdated.

I can pretty much do anything after buying my NL/ML converter.

Sometimes I switch the sources around after a while so N.Music is either Deezer from BSMoment or NAS music or BM5 internal hard disc music.

Sometimes I change the N.Radio to point to my BM5 internet radio stations or tune-in from my BSMoment.

Someone like you with 2 BS9000s can have N.Music and N.Radio coming from BS/BM5 and the other BS9000 could be hooked up to newer BS music systems.

I'd love to have 2... πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ”₯

I couldn't agree more. It's awesome and effortless - and who decided CD's aren't cool? I love the tactile feel of playing a good album.

I use my BS9000 as a CD player only and take the digital output to feed a digital input on my (non B&O) preamplifier.
