Hi All,

The joystick button on my Beo4 remote has fallen of, so I have ordered a new one, does anyone know how to open the Beo4 please?  there are 3 screws however I am unable to get past these as the unit is a very tight fit,  any help will be greatly appreciated.  thanks

There's actually 4 screws - one is under the label in the battery compartment.  From then on it's pretty straightforward if you are careful.

Thanks Guy, do you know what size the 6 small bolts are?  my smallest 6mm is way to big !

Any tips to get these off, or is it a special tool

I think I just used a pair of long nosed pliers - they weren't done up that tight.

But from the service guide, they're 'Nut M3'.

Sometime when re-assembling you have to adjust the tightness of the nuts nearest the screen to ensure that the connectivity strip makes full contact.  I think there's a thread about replacing screens, which may be useful.  Hang on!

Out of interest, where did you get the replacement joystick from?  Could you just buy that or the whole keypad?   Sometimes dealers are unwilling to supply parts.  I usually get my spares from AVA Services.

If you haven't lost the joystick, you don't need to remove anything on the Beo4. The part needs to be put back then the rubber can be levered in front of the joystick.
