Trying to find the join button on an older BEO4 who has not the JOIN command on the List.

With this older Beo4 remote I push in the middle of volume up-down buttons and my BL2000 starts in Join function.

Pushing in the middle of volume up-down buttons on my BV3 gives me no response on the television. I also tried the shift + CD (CD2) command on the remote, but in this case the BV3 starts the normal CD source. Using a new BEO4 with joystick and sending the Join command from the list, works on the BV3.

So this JOIN function works on an older BV3, its just a matter of finding the right command on the older Beo4 remote. Any ideas?

AFAIK the latest SW for the Beo4 was 6.22 in Dec 07 which added DTV2.  In the SW revisions up to that point I can see no mention of JOIN.

My Beo4 doesn't have CD2 in list, so I am not sure if the original poster will have it.

This thread: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/20796/171063.aspx#171063

... implies that CD2 is found using SHIFT CD, so perhaps that works (EDIT: Only on older remotes perhaps - it shows on the display on my BL5000)

However, I always though that SHIFT CD was DVD.  Confused.

Time on my hands so have done some more digging ...

It appears that when the DTV/V.MEM/A.MEM Beo4 was introduced, CD2 was deleted as a 'soft source', so you may need an older Beo4.

See Beo4 specification here: https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=694

Indeed... It is the one with DTV/V.MEM/A.MEM. and CD2 is not on its list.

Summarized:

The shift+CD command on this Beo4 is JOIN? Not in my case, because it does not work on a BV3 and on a BL2000. It only gets you to the normal source behind the CD button.

The Mute command of this older Beo4 is perfectly working on a BL2000 to JOIN, but not on a BV3

The JOIN function from a newer Beo4 with joystick is working on both the BV3 and BL2000 and activates Multiroom.

It must be another command, or a combination to activate the JOIN functioning on older Beo4s in using a BV3.

Yes, that's why amended my post to say 'Only on older remotes perhaps'

Not necessarily.  Perhaps B&O simply dropped that function temporarily because the aging Beo4 memory was struggling to cope with all the additional functions?

Out of interest, I just dug out an old 'SAT' Beo4 and sure enough, CD2 is there in the list!

Try 'P-V.AU2'

That's the only new source that was added when CD2 and PHONE were deleted.
