Hello all,
I am asking some expert help.
I have an A9 that I really like in terms of sound and presence in the room. While it is room filling I would love to have a second source next to it. I know A9 is already stereophonic but I am playing with the thought of buying another one and then pairing them together. First question is would that work? Esthetically it definately will but is it also technically possible? I might then add also an Essence to it and most of my streaming today is from Ipad, Iphone et.
While thinking I found a young pair of second life BL9's. ANd then started to wonder what the best option is: go for 2 A9s paired or sell my current A9 and buy BL9 speakers? The BL9 option is going to be slightly more expensive so how does sound compare?
Thanks!
both will sound good, though i suspect the two BL9 will sound much better....after all 2 A9s will not achieve stereo separation, the same signal will be sent to both....whereas the 2 BL9s i think will work as a proper pair of stereo speakers........i'm guessing others will weigh in more strongly even, that the BL9s are a better option........aesthetically, i imagine 2 BL9s will look better, much as i love my A9, a pair of them might be a bit too attention grabbing.....
Hi and welcome to Beoworld.
Since two A9's will only be a double up of the same (linkable) sources - assuming they are both MK2's - this is not a solution for one room.
You can not pair two A9's like you can with the S3 or A1....!
Definitely go for the pair of BL9 - but don't forget that you would need e.g. the BS Essence (MK2) to have fun with them ;-)
And do remember that you can easily connect an external source (a CD player or.....) to the line-in of the Essence - if you need it.

A9 looks good alone, its not meant to have a twin. Two of them would look bulky and weird imho. I also suggest then going for Beolabs.
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
You are right Duels,
that is easy - just use the lin-in connection for 1 x right and 1 x left channel.
I did not mention that, because it is such a bad idea ;-(
The A9 is not a speaker - this is a sound system with built-in stereo speakers.

Wow thanks everyone for the responses, you have made my decision making process very easy :-) So the BL9's it will be!
