Just received a B&O email announcing the final editions of the BL 5 and 3.
Graham
Me too,
I have a pair of BeoLab 3 and i love it ! :-)
Outstanding sound for their size !
The queen is dead, long live the (new) queen !
Whether it is the BL90s, or their smaller child coming later in 2017, or these final editions of the venerable BL5, or the punchy BL3, there seems to be an increase in the number of second life BL5's on the market (at least here in the states, if eBay is any indication). I wish I had room for them.

Completely agree with this. I have mine connected to my BV12-65. Great size, value and sound!
ditto that, same set up, throw in a pair of BL18s and its dreamy.....wish i had space for some BL5s too........wonder whether the BL3's are going to be replaced with something new by B&O....

Graham, are there any details and pictures?
Hopefully this link will work.
carlito:Posted this including pictures already end of January http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/23219.aspx
Same specs, same price; the glossy disks is the only difference, and last order possible for any Beolab5 will be mid may before end of life.
Stevegee:StKong - there are pics of the black lab3s on the website - I was sent an email from my dealer about it.
Stevegee:Top and bottom by the looks of it
looks gorgeous in gloss black aluminium

Oh so it is! Of course.
I love seeing different variations of colour choice in B&O equipment. The walnut finish is what made me purchase the Beoplay 18s in the end!
*Beolab(!)
I'm not sure this is new ; a white indicator light?

I finally received the e-mail from B&O advertising the Final Edition to their iconic products.
The Final Edition is a truly good way of sending off the speakers to End Of Life.

Ditto. I sincerely hope they replace the Beolab 3 with an updated version - WISA for example.
Hugely underrated speakers the Lab 3's - coupled with a sub they can easily rival many passive full range speakers from mainstream audiophile brands - B&W for example - in their floor standing ranges.
I also much prefer acoustic suspension or passive bass radiators to reflex ports when it comes to sound quality. That the Lab 3 used passive radiators to achieve a balanced bass output, rather than a port resonator, in such a small speaker was a masterpiece of audio engineering.
The Lab 3 was also arguably an affordable entry into the B&O audio world of quality loudspeakers and with the most definite technological advantage of the acoustic lenses.
They will be missed - here's to the replacement being even better... :-)
Cheers
John
I agree with you there John.
I would love the BL3 with WISA.
Even though they are entry level, I remember when purchasing them, wow, $6000 is a heck of a lot of money. I would love to have 2 black to match my 2 white, but i prefer the WISA.
I hope someone buys them and we can see what they are like
even the white ones have the black lens
woot woot :-)
