I see dealers are offering £1000 for any working tv against a new Avant or BV14 tv

Which would you go for Avant or BV14?

Some dealers are offering interest free over 2 years but not all

To be offered £1000 for my old (unused but still working) LX2802 seems good offer.

I can then move my BV7-40 to another room and keep the B&O 6000 x4 and BeoLab 2 subwoofer in the lounge linked to new Avant/BV 14?

Any thoughts ?

Surely a matter of design, appart from the buggy software on both, they are great tv's (excellent picture and sound).

The Avant outperforms the 14 on paper for the sound but in real life much less.

Absolutely agree. Design surely everything? Much as the 14 had software issues, it's magnificent looking

Thanks for the replies and B&O design does appeal.

but as both sets seem to have 'buggy software' problems, I wonder if Samsung UE55KS8000 55 inch at £1498 or UE65KS7500 65 inch at £1499 is the way to go?

Would I still be able to use the 6000's and subwoofer? and surround sound?

Yes.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

The BV14/Avant only has the new RJ45 Powerlink connectors, so just buy an PL->RJ45 adapter for each speaker and you're good to go! Did the same thing with my BL8000 & BL11.

The software is buggy at the moment (let's hope this will all change in Week10) but sound and picture wise: top!

Hello TEL,

only in a Beovision there is an Dolby Sourround Decoder for having

Sourround Sound out of your Beolabs. Otherwise you'll need a separate Dolby Decoder. Any Samsung or other brands do NOT have the possibility

of decoding the Dolby Sound, only Stereo at max!!!

Or you take this: almando Multiplay Surround Decoder

Just have a look to almando.com

Beovision NG Avant arrived last Thu.

No User Guide was included and I see the B&O website sends you to a -pdf- file for 120 pages of detail !

Dealer says B&O no longer issue user guides nor a 'part number' to order, but surely it's not too much to ask when spending this amount of money - for a physical User guide to have in my hand?

I shouldn't have to print this out on a home printer - or am I old fashioned?

Trying to contact B&O UK by phone and actually speaking to somebody seems difficult

Anybody got any thoughts?

Go online and print it....

Seems like that's the preferred method nowadays.

Save trees when possible.

Not everyone wants the paper guide.

I see both sides of this one but fall on the electronic side.

I am sure you fan skip the last 30 pages - and maybe also some of the non-relevant in between.

I have my guides downloaded as PDFs and stored in my iBooks library for easy reference ... even when in the road and answering forum questions Smile

I'm with you. I want the guide. You print it out anyway so why can't they give it to you.

Better still they should come to your house and explain it all as a value add.

I think they won't give it to you because it wasn't finished and the product still is in development. Since most things Update often nowadays the only reliable source is the latest - meaning online.

No reply yet from customerfeedback - will wait and see.

Yes I do like the Avant - big change from BV7-40 though I do miss the Beo4 - much easier to find your way round the buttons and remember them - but with time I'm sure 'I will adapt' as they say.

Need more time to play with it.

I would love an avant but no way with the android software. Let's hope mk3 or any future TV's are back to in house software.

I suppose there is always non NG version that would work.
