Hi All,

I am going to install Apple TV on my System, I would have some quetsion:

1) Do I need to install an Apple TV for any TV, or is enough one on the central BeO 7 to transfer the Images via Masterlink to all the TV in The House?

2) Can the Apple TV be controlled by the BeO remote 5?

3) Can the Apple TV be installed on the back of the TV or need to be visible to use the Remote?

Please help me.

Ciao.

Hi!

I also use a Apple TV and am very pleased with it.

1. Since Apple TV sends its picture and sound with HDMI you need one Apple TV at each TV.

2 & 3. Yes, the best way is to use a IR-cable from your B&O TV and just attach it on the front of your Apple TV. You may also need to update your PUC-table in your B&O TV so you can choose Apple Remote as control. Since you use the IR-cable you can hide the Apple TV. I use mine in the bedroom and have hidden it behind my 8-32. Works perfect.

Good luck.

Yes, you can control it from the Beo$.

The Beo4 signal goes to the BV, and the BV translates it to Apple commands and retransmits it to the ATV.

This picture shows how they are connected ... three cords: power, PUC from BV, and HDMI to BV

Depends on the different models, some times there are 2 or 4 PUC plugs .....

Thanks Elephant,

After installing the ATV in each of my Beo TVs, can I plug a USB external HD to the Airport Extreme and use it as Server for the itunes songs or movies?

Is it better to connect, for this purpose a Mac Mini?

Thanks!

D.

Sorry, but I don't know - but I suspect not - this is how I do it ......

I have two ATVs and a Time Capsule and a MacMini.

The ATVs connect via iTunes home sharing -- so they find the MacMini when iTunes is running on the MacMini.

They do not seen the Time Capsule since it does not run iTunes.

Nor do they see any external HDs as disks (unless parts of the iTunes library is on those disks e.g. the movies section).

I use Plex on my MacMini and iPad to browse my movies that are not stored in iTunes but are stored on an external HD - I then use the iPad's Plex to Airplay a movie to the ATV.
