Then my playlists could have a picture of me and my husbands ‘non-stereotypical’ playlist of endless Barbra Streisand tracks could have a picture of him and a health warning…..

Best,

Paul

Lyle Clarke:

The feature is that if you favorite an artist, we add the entire discography to your collection. If you simply favorite individual albums, and don't favorite the artist, then we just add those to the collection.

Just thought of a snag. Deezer's fault, not yours, but it affects this functionality. I have mailed Deezer support about this several times, but it's at least a year since last now. They took so long to reply, and never fixed anything. Only said they would "forward it" or "look into it", and then nothing happened. So I gave up.

Anyway, the snag is this: Deezer has confused a lot of artists with the same names. One example is RAC. I have favourited RAC, but I know the only album he has published so far is "Strangers". On Deezer, albums from a few other artists with the same name appears on the same artist page, and therefore on my Moment. Another example is norwegian artist Gabrielle, who is mixed together with a bunch of other artists also named Gabrielle. After I contacted Deezer (don't know if it was because of me, of course), they made another Gabrielle profile, with the correct artist picture, and moved a few of the singles there. Most of the singles and albums are still on the "other" Gabrielle, though. It used to be the same with swedish band Kent, but I checked just now and they actually seem to have fixed that.

Anyway... Not a very large problem, I suppose. And not B&O's fault. But still, annoying enough for the artists it affects.

Thanks for highlighting this.

We see a pattern where the more that people care about their music collection, the more they want to get the details right, and the more little annoyances like this are discovered. There are usually work arounds (for example in this case, unfavouriting that artist, and favouriting just the albums you want) which we have to live with for now, but that does not make the desire to do something about it go away.

Deezer are a cool team that care, so I suggest reporting to them the artist merges you find in a clear enough way that they can act on it.
