Just moved and looking for an option for best BS9000 + RedLine connection.
Would the MCL 2P the device that I need? Reason for asking is that B&O will use the current internet cable wiring in the apartment for distribution of the signal. Meaning
* BS9000 connected to RJ45
* At the fuse-box / closet where the internet switchboard is placed the MCL 2P will be connected to the RJ45 connected to the BS9000
* From there (via the MCL 2P) the sound will be distributed again to two RJ45 outputs or alternatively via speakercable.
Here is the catch, according to the B&O installer i need some MCL box with Masterlink, but i do not see why as I have nothing linked.
All i want (and need) is the cables and amplifier neatly hidden away.
Any thoughts / advice? Thanks in advance
If you want the RL speakers for the main room, it should work with the internet cable used as Powerlink and the speakers connected directly to the MCL2P speakers outputs. It you want the RL speakers for a linkroom connect an MCL2A to the MCL2P and the speakers to the MCL2A outputs.
I don`t think that you will need any Masterlink devices for that setup...(?)
And I don`think it`s a good idea to use internet cable as speaker cable...or did I miss something?
Stefan
When you connect the MCL2P to the beosound 9000 the cable has to be configured as a Powerlink Mk2 cable with all wires connected like the first one on this page http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/misc2.htm else the MCL2P won't turn on
Thanks madskp and Stefan,
My new apartment has internet sockets (RJ45) all over the place and has two nice connections in the floor in each corner of the room. According to the B&O installer it would be possible to use either two cables from that internet cable as + - speakercable OR alternatively to drag the speaker cables under the floor in the same pipes as were the internet cable is.
Connection from BS9000 to MCL 2P can be done by powerlink but -again according to B&O- an adapter powerlink --> RJ45 and vice versa is available.
I'll check the link that you posted (madskp).
Thanks again
Hello again,
Correct madskp, alternatively we (meaning B&O) can drag original powerlink cable from BS9000 to MCL 2P
Anyone some experience?
I found a vertical wall mount for the BS9000 since my 15month old is a bit to much in love with it ...
