I have purchased a used beovision 7-32 tv and the sound was superb, I have removed the 7.1 Beolab speaker and coupled it to my regular tv and it sounds 'orrid. Could this be because it's not securely mounted with the benefit of the rubber dampers on the bracket isolating the unit. It's currently just sat on a shelf. It sounds very boooomy, not to SWMBO's liking at all, (she's more critical than I am) . Any advice will be most welcome as I've wanted a set of these speakers for ever !! I can't use the B&O tv as it's physically too big for the space and the dvd plays too dark
Hi (and welcome to beoworld)
You haven't mentioned how you've connected it to your television but leaving this aside for the moment...
...the BL7 has downward facing woofers, so sitting it directly on a shelf will be far from ideal - there are table stands and/or wall brackets available so maybe one of these would help, but in the meantime you could try turning it upside down so that the woofers face upwards rather than into the shelf and see if this improves the sound - it should give a good indication as to whether this is the cause or whether the issue is the quality of the audio output from the television or the method of connection.
Kind regards,
Martin.

Welcome to Beoworld. The Beolab 7.x is not made to sit on a shelf. It has to be mounted on the B&O stand to have enough air under the woofers or on a wall. Using it upside down should only be a temporary solution to check if the speaker is technically okay. Here's a picture of it on a stand:http://sound-affair.com/beolab-7-1-silver
Beware that you have to set the switch on the back to the correct position: "free or wall"So, don't worry or panic. Just mount it to the wall under your TV or mount it onto the stand and enjoy your Beolab 7.1. It's simply a great speaker for TV and music.
Thanks for your suggestions, we currently have it standing vertically and leaning against a wall and there's a vast improvement. I think we've pretty much decided to go for the wall mount bracket. Thanks again.
