Hi to all,

I need your help to clear my mind about the picture quality of Beovision 4-50 720p.

Since years I'm using Pioneer PDP-42MXE10 720p professional screen (not a tv) and still very happy with the picture quality. I have also full HD LCD LG TV but I swear that my plasma screen has far better picture quaity and colors then Full HD LCD.

Now, I'm interested in to purchase Beovision 4-50 720p with Beosystem2 and my question is the picture quality of it... I never found a chance to watch any Beovision 4-50 with 720p. Can any body help me by comparing the picture quality of BV4 and today Full HD tvs?

Another question is, can I update Beosystem 2 to beosystem 3 in the future?

Thank you very much for your help in advance....

Hi,

I had a 1080p panasonic tv and recently changed to a BV4-50 720p screen and beosystem2. Overall the picture, colour etc is far superior on the B&O. The lower resolution does mean that text on the screen is more pixelated and fast moving flesh tones suffer a little but overall i would not swap back, plus its one remote for all my home cinema and sky box and of course the sound is superb !

The look of a brushed aluminium frame is sooo much better than a plastic shiny surround.

I do not need any extra HD connections so i will probably change to a BV4-50 1080P panel next and then on to a Beosystem 3 as i think that the picture will be slightly better on a 1080 screen even when running lower sky resolutions on it than on the 720p screen.

Overall for around £1800-£2000 the bv-4 50 720p with system 2 i think is great value for money providing you do not want to connect lots of HD sources.

Thank you for your help mayface.

I'll use this TV in my bedroom and there is only one HD source that I want to connect is HD DVD.

Do you control your skybox via Beosystem 2 or lintronic etc.? That would be another reason for me to invest on this TV if I can control sat receiver like skybox or technisat via beosystem 2...
