I have today a "pure" ML-system with a BV 7-55 in mainroom and a Beosound 5 also in mainroom.
I have also BL 3500 in two smaller rooms with Master link. I like very much using streamingservices.
Do anyone of You think that it should be a good thing to sell my Beosound 5 and buy a Beosound Essence MKII (and also buy a Beolink NL/ML converter for the ML-system)?
I will loose my CD-collection in the Beosound 5 but I will have the opportunity to use the Beomusic-app to control Deezer-streaming.
What do You think?
I should also say that I have BLGW with the Beolink app to controll the CD-collection in the Beosound 5 today. But spotify in the Beosound 5 is useless to use because there is no "app" to control spotify with Beosound 5.
Best regardsMartin

I am not sure what you would gain by doing this. The BS5 is an exceptionally functional Music player and works with the BV7 well. However, because neither of them are NL products, there is limited use I think in adding the Essence.
I would (and did) add an Essence as a way of adding multiroom functionality to the primary Lounge AV system (Avant/NL-Conv and BS5) in another room.
To get around a number of compatibility issues of my BS5 Library (wma lossless), the Avant and Essence, I converted all my music files to FLAC and parked the whole lot on a WD NAS Drive.
The Avant can read either the BM5 Harddrive via the NL-Converter or the NAS (directly) depending on how you configure the DNLA “show”. I also got the BM/BS5 to read the NAS drive as its library (surprisingly, this speeded up the display fluidity remarkably). Via the Avant not MOTS, via the BS5 with MOTS.
Therefore, if you want an Essence, buy one with a NAS and park your Essence in a separate room with a good speaker set.
With regard to Spotify, Deezer etc...cant help you there. but if this is big for you, you may be able to feed the Essence into a BV7 auxiliary as a source and control via the App.
However, I think you will regret losing your BS5 for the Essence while you have the BV7.
If you are not planning to get a newer NL-capable BV, I would suggest, that you keep the setup as is - means, that you should keep the BS/BM5.
And - as Mr 10Percent already mentioned - you could add an Essence as a source on the BV (using an analog-in there).
This way you would benefit from all the sourses of the Essence (even on the BL3500's), but you would have to activate the input and control the volume through the tv. You can use the Beomusic app for the navigation of the Essence itself - the 'wheely-remote' would not help much in this setup.
If you initially just would want to explore the possibilities of 'streaming services', you could simply add a ChromeCast Audio dongle to an analog input of the BV7 or - using a analog to digital usb-adapter - to the A.Aux of the BM5.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Great Thanks for your Reply. I Will maybe buy the new B&O Oled later and then I go full NL around the house. Just now I Will keep the Bs5.
best regards
Martin
As Millemmisen and Mr 10Percent already said: Keep your Beosound 5! It's the last real B&O device. ;-)Add it to another room or simply as a source to the Beovision or via AUX on the Beosound 5. On the Beosound 5 AUX-In requires a cheap USB-Audio interface from Behringer.
