Beosound 4 volume controle locked

Hi there,

i am searching for solution for my problem with the volume control on my beosound 4. 

The volume control on the unit is locked / does not work. I can hear the reel switching every step by turning it, but the volume is locked / fixed bei Volume XX. 

I didn´t found any information in the user manual or in forum or internet how exactly to reset the unit to the factory settings or hw to fix this problem. 

There is no option to reset it in the menue of the unit. 

There is no reset button on the unit. 

Any idea? 

HELP!!

Now I understand why and what reset you are looking for.

I hate to say it but it seems a hardware problem from what you described.

Do you have a remote ?

Does the volume respond to the remote ?

That test might at least indicate it's a mechanical problem .....

Hi,

yes, i have tried with several beo4 remotes. The beosound 4 does not respond to the volume command i send from diferend beo4 remotes. The remote sender is lightning. 

I have changed the left volume weel on the beosound 4 with the right source weel ( they are identicaly)  

but the volume is still locked.

But the question is stil the same: there must be an option to reset the beosound 4 to the factory settings. I can´t believe it is not possible...

Vlad,

You can go into the Service Menu and you will find a "Default Settings Menu"

However, all radio programs and CD user settings are cleared.

can you tell me step by step where did you find this service menu. I don´t have this menu in my beosound 4.

Seems the Beosound is set to audio option zero so thinks volume is controlled via Masterlink / TV. Try setting it in audio option 1
