Beomaster 5500 and Beolab 5 connection

I have an old Beomaster 5500 and new Beolab 5 speakers, can anyone please advise parts and part nos of cables etc to get these connected

Welcome to Beoworld and congratulations to your new speakers.

Unfortunately it`s not really "plug and play" to connect these two devices. BM5500 doesn`t have Powerlink sockets, so use preamp outputs via rca.

Just connect this cable to Line in on your BL5s as described in the setup manual. I think you have to use a sync cable to control both speakers simultaneously. Set the Beolabs to Link option 1 (L.OPT 1). The speakers have built in IR eyes to control sources and volume/standby.

I recommend a BM7000/Beogram CD7000 combo for your setup. It`s more "plug and play", because the Beomaster got Powerlink sockets, and you can connect the CD7000 digitally via spdif directly to the BL5s. I had this system years ago. Soundwise it`s a dream....:)
