Seanie_230:Hello MrAndersen Just been playing with the app and playing music on my Essence Mk2 When I find a track from my fav's and select play next it does not do it it plays another track but I don't know where it's come from. I have to select play now and it works I submitted feedback BLGW - Rekindling the love of ML
I have been using the MoodWheel on the Moment a lot lately, but I cannot seem to figure out how it should work when combining the X app and MoodWheel.
I have posted some questions and findings here.
http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/25017/199984.aspx#199984
It seems that the PlayQueue in the X App and the Moment's MoodWheel does not know what to do about eachother (at least the MoodWheel) get's confused :)
Also, regarding the Radio part.. I find it very confusing that to actually being able to listen to radio stations, I need to put them in the Queue ? This makes no sense to me, because a station never stops. If the Queue is empty, and I select a radio station from my favourites, I cannot go to the next or prev station. to do this, I normally first go to the beomusic app, and select a song from my favorites there, that populates the queue in the X App, and then prev/next works.
That could be a lot better in the X App. Songs and radio are 2 very different things regarding listening and changing stations.
I also noticed, when adding an alarm to my A6, that if the A6 is off, and adding the alarm, the TuneIn stations I could select, where NOT from my favorites, they seemed random, and at best, just the first 10 stations available.
Don't know if this is the A6 or the App, or a combination. If I turn on the A6 and selects a song from my favorites, then the list I can select in the Alarm, is my favorites list.
The App are a great step ahead, but I really think there are way to many "this works like this, because you did this", and not "this works like this every time".
I know there are many products and App's that need to work together, and this is not a small task :)
Looking forward to the next version :)

Hi Webyx
We struggled a lot with radio and the queue structure on the products. You are right, in many ways radio stations doesn't make sense in a queue, as you say they never stop. The again it might, because it enables you to switch between the stations fast on the product or in the app. Then you have podcasts where the queue does make sense and you can actually combine them in the same queue, which is also a bit strange. In the end we decided to not make any assumption and force a specific user pattern on radio. We would let the users play around with it, using the build in playqueue concept, and get some user feedback, which we're now getting :) I do not yet have the magic bullet that will make radio work in the queue intuitively, we will adjust it over time and hopefully we will get there.
As for the radio favorites not working like they used to, we're aware of this and fixing it for the release in april. Stay tuned, pun intended ;)

I know that it is not easy to implement everything so it works 100% for all people 100% of the time :)
The reason I get confused about Radio, is that since the dawn of time(1989 when I bought my BS4500), I have been used to the fact that when I listen to radio, and have preset 9 stations, the prev/next is cycling through those 9 "favorites".
This behaviour is what I believe most people using TuneIn expects. That it cycles through your favorites, unless off course, you choose another station. but that is just the same as searching for a FM station, and find out you dont like it, so you just go back to your favorites.
For me at least, the Radio stations in my favorites, should work 100% like the stations preset on an FM radio, they should not be added to any queue, they should be treated as the "old" days ;)
That is just my 2 cents, don't know if you have had a user group to talk to during the design of the app, but since there is a lot of "old" gold out there, that are loosing their FM radios in these times, and might just think about the move to newer times, they need to feel a bit at home with the new stuff, or they move to a simpler, cheaper, no-name DAB+ radio, and a customer is gone.
It is very important I think, that the new stuff is 100% intuitive, or it get's to hard for non technical people to use.
You are doing a great job, and I think that over time if the focus is kept, that the new X app and Moment, will really really be a nice combination for people to use.
And.... now I am talking about the Moment. Did you read my thread about my MoodWheel behaviour ?
Are the X app team , and the Moment in dialogue about the interaction between X app's play queue, and how it is transferred to the Moment, and the Moment's MoodWheel, and how it respons to the PlayQueue from the X App ?
I am getting som really really weird behaviour when combining the X App and MoodWheel. Those 2 together does not play well, and when I would like to use the MoodWheel, I first clear the PlayQueue on the Moment using the X App, it is the only way there is some consistency in what music the moodwheel gives me. If I don't clear the Queue, the music I listen to is a random combination of X App Queue/MoodWheel and the next ring it jumps to, when finding a song that is not in the same mood as I selected on the MoodWheel.
It is very easy to replicate the confusion :)

MrAndersen:
Really looking forward to the april update of the X-app. I'm axcited to see what progress you have made. Another possible issue to consider for the X-app. Don't think this has been brought up yet:
If you favourite an artist on Deezer, all the albums/EPs/singles of that artist are added to your album collection on the Moment. In a post march 12th in the "Beosound Moment v2.0 First Impression" thread Lyle Clarke explains the reasons for this. They are good reasons, some of which are Moment-specific and does not apply to the X-app, specifically the reasons pertaining to the Mood Wheel. No wonder then, that the X-app treats this in a different way, not adding all the albums to your album collection when you favourite an artist. A few of the other reasons apply though, such as quickly building an album collection from scratch.
However, this leads to inconsistent experiences concerning what albums I "have" and "don't have" in my album collection. I have listened to a specific album a lot lately, having started it from the Moment. However, when I wanted to start it from the X-app the other day I couldn't find it in my collection. First I thought something was wrong, and it took me half a minute to realise that I had favourited the artist, but not the actual album.
Not a bug as such, but maybe something that should be coordinated between your teams. Still in this brave new world of streaming I like to think of my album collection as something tangible, that I "have", and this inconsistency challenged that feeling more than I care for.
Thanks!
btw: I don't know if you saw my last comment in this thread, about sorting/filtering in the album view of the X-app. Did it make sense?
Have a great day!
Oh, and see you a the price draw, everyone!

Large playlists (700 tracks) in Deezer are having problems to load them. The Android app keeps trying to load the tracks in the playlist view, but shows after a while a black screen, or a displays a fault message. There are no problems with loading smaller lists from around 100 tracks.
The only way to play a large list is opening the ... icon after the playlist name and push 'play now'.

MrAndersen:Hi all, Today we have updated the iOS app in the app store. The app have received a lot of polish and couple of new features. So here is a couple of words on that: We have improved the transitions between the different views to be more fluent, especially regarding the header. The player drawer (our internal name for the small grey bar in the bottom) has been refactored to have information on the selected product. That means no more snackbar messages on disconnected products All standby has been added We have added simple TV support for BeoVision 11, BeoVision Avant, BeoPlay V1 and BeoSystem 4. This first implementation is very slim and only supports volume, channels, sources and expand. We do NOT support "wake on lan" and "my buttons" yet. Our TV support will evolve over time and this is the first step. Expand has been redesigned to have a more clear separation between selecting a product and expanding to another product. The app is still very new and bit rough around edges, our next release is planned for April so stay tuned. Thanks Thomas Andersen, Bang & Olufsen PS. The updated Android app will hit the Play store tomorrow, we will keep them in sync from now on.
Regards
Kiran

A bit late to the party, but...
....I totally agree on this - this is the way it has to work.
A Radio station is not a playlist - it is a fixed stream, that you can add as a favourite/preset.
They easiest way to access the preferred radio station is to assign it to a number just like we do with a tv station.
Some like to access it directly, others like to skip through the list of favourites, but you need a fixed, easy understandable structure to do this.

Hi all,
Sorry i have absent for while. We're wrapping up the April release and will be shipping in a few days. Let me try to catch up with your questions. Let me know if i have missed anyone.
@Henrik: We're aware that the integration with the Moment is still not as it should be. The Moment behaves a little different in many many of the API calls and makes it really hard to get right. We will keep on it. In regards to the sorting and filtering, yes we hear you and are looking at solutions. Think we will start simple by simply have a free text filter and work from there. I'll keep you posted.
@Chris: That sounds like something we should look at right away. Not sure, but Deezer should have a paging functionality. Android seems to handle large lists much worse than iOS unfortunately. Creating a bug on it now.
@djfairley89: Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated. Currently all standby is only in Active Sources accessible from the player top right. I feel this is too hidden. Long press on play/pause might work but how would you know it is there? Separate volume for alarms is a must, I'm surprised it is not there. I will forward your request to the product team.
@Kiran: BV Avant NG is not in yet. Waiting on go ahead from the product team. We're working on the NL/ML but it is going to take a bit longer. The test matrix is daunting. Expect it this summer.
@Millemissen: TuneIn favorites will work like they do in BeMusic in the April release 0.9.5. As for the play queue, agreed we need to look at this. The queue concept for is a bit messy on the products and thats where we need to fix it. We're looking at it.
@Jans: Very close, in the next 3-4 days depending on platform.
Thanks for all your input
Thomas
Hi there Mr.Andersen......cant quite remember, but is DLNA support being added to the new app in the upcoming release?
Thanks for the communication
SandyB
Hi Sandyb
Yes it is. We just finished the concept work and started coding. Expected out in May.
Ups too fast, no not the upcoming one sorry.

Hej Thomas,
there is another thread on the forum about the new app:
http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/23960/201731.aspx#201731
I posted a question on the app offering to use/configure Google Cast on my V1 tv there.
Would you be so kind to look into that as well?
Me too, I'm starting to really like it.
There are a few features that I need to see before it's matured to me:
Livingroom: BL3, BL11, BV11-46 Kitchen: Beosound 1 GVA, Beocom 2 Bathroom: M3 Homeoffice: M3, Beocom 2 Library: Beosound Emerge, Beocom 6000 Bedroom: M5, Essence remote Travel: Beoplay E8 2.0, Beoplay EQ, Beoplay Earset
@Sandyb: We will test on all the major vendors, Synology, QNAP, Netgear, Buffalo etc.
@Hjort: Yes, concept work has begun. We will start coding very soon
@ThatGuyFromDenmark: Yes shuffle and repeat, still embarrassingly absent. We will add it, it just not only involves the app and that complicates it a bit. Moodwheel, well perhaps at some point. It is not on the roadmap yet. Software update, you can see if your product is up to date in the product page->about. Not yet update it directly from there. This will be added. DLNA, yes work has begun.
MrAndersen:@Sandyb: We will test on all the major vendors, Synology, QNAP, Netgear, Buffalo etc.
I totally aggree with Jan.

Hi Seanie
That looks weird. I will take a look at this tomorrow.
Thanks for feedback.
MrAndersen,
I raised a ticket for this one too: the Recommended playlists and artists section headers are showing technical fields names instead of the French value of these fields - Cheers

@Chris: Sorry, no BV14 yet, we have implemented support, but waiting for go ahead
When i listen to the radio on my Moment, the App doesn't show what's playing on the Radio any more, even when i select another channel on the App.
Get black screen with the volume wheel.
Playing right now, with Deezer works fine.
Another addiction, when you start the app (Iphone), and lock your Iphone after. You can control volume, play/pause, previous/next on the lock screen, very pretty!
And when i make a phone call, when the App is running, it degrease the volume of the Moment till i hang up. Very pretty also
I´ve a question related to DLNA. I´m not a owner of your latest NL products except for the NL/ML Converter but I wonder would it be possible to integrate with the BM5/BS5 or BS5 Encore since both of these acts as a DLNA receiver that can remotely start to stream the DLNA stream that you send to it. I would be fantastic to be able to bring new life in these iconic products by a simple thing like that, by doing so you could include these as a partial multi room experience by using the older DLNA protocol.

+1!
I could never quite understand why the BeoSound 5 was not integrated into the multi-room system of NL. It's already connected to one's wifi network and is basically a computer that could accept a software update to achieve the goals. The BeoMaster 5 content already shows up in the BeoMusic app as a source for NL products.
