I have a Beogram 3500 that's started to act rather funny.

I had just been playing a record and at the end turned it self off ok, and after 20 minutes or so it just turned it self back on and won't turn off.

it just keeps going to the beginning of the record and then goes back to the start position and then back to the start of the record ( it won't lower the stylus) and then back to the start.

It just keeps repeating this all the time and I can't turn if off.

anyone else had this problem and can help me fix this.

Could it be that the play button is simply sticking so it is set to continually repeat?

My money will be on dirty/oxidated contacts inside or a broken start solenoid plunger.

Hi Martin

I think you might be right about the start solenoid plunger, as the start wheel won't rotate.

can you still get the parts, or is it a breakup unit for parts.

if it is a breakup unit, can i fit the RIAA amp to a Beogram 5005

It's not as easy to "just move a RIAA from one deck to another" as it may sound.
Regarding parts availability, as you know, I have a little of this and a little of that in the dungeons.
Email me and let me know exactly which part(s) you need.

Martin
