Hey I have a Beocenter 9000. The tape deck works pretty well however the audio if different on both channels. One channel has a lot more treble than the other one has. Is this a known issue? (could this have something to do with old capacitors and audio filtering?)
I tried audio from the AUX port and this seems to be fine.
More likely to be either the tape or the recording on it, dirt on the tapeheads and/or misalignment of the(autoreverse) head-rotating system.

While I've not owned a 9000 personally, it sounds like the bias is out of adjustment (tape head alignment) which is usually adjusted easily via a spring-loaded screw just below the tape head. Best adjusted while listening to the tape while it's playing- Assuming it's not the recording to dirty head as Martin points out.

Just cleaned the tape head another time and that seemed to be the problem. Thanks guys!
