Hello!

My beo has a significant stand by humming. as i found in the forum i can adjust the potensiometers to 11mV, and or replace the rubber mounts on the transformator.

ill think i start with the rubber mounts, are they placed underneat the screws thats placed in the 4 cornes of the transformator, the ones visible when open the lid?

I am not sure where you read that, but the idle current will not be the cause for humming in standby  since the amplifiers will not be powered.
(And if they are, the amplifiers power relay has cracked its solder joints).

New transformer rubber mounts (8 in total, 4 on top and 4 on bottom of the transformer) could improve matters but most likely not
eliminate it completely. It's the transformer that hums and it will continue doing so. It will not be a problem for functionality but can be
rather annoying in severe cases.
Only remedy is a replacement transformer.

Good that you are asking this.

You can have a look at the spray mentioned here: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/7665.aspx

I have long been tempted to try this. But I am not skilled in electronics so I did not dare to try to do it myself, because I do not know if there is a risk of electric shock when working with the transformer: can anyone tell me if it is safe to try, or if it is better to ask a technician?

Anyway, I really would like to give it a try as I have several Beomasters to save…
