Hi!

can the owners of beosystem 3 ( or anybody else) explain me the advantages of changing my ROTEL RSX 1057 receiver with a beosystem 3? ( beside spending a large amount of cash :))

My system: - ROTEL RSX 1057

- Samsung 50" plasma

- wdtv live hub

- denon 2930 dvd player

- panasonic blu-ray player

- cable box

- 2 beolab 8000's and 4 beolab 6000's

Thanks!

Liviu

Masterlink

PUC - use Beo 4 to control your devices

Easiest integration of your Beolabs

Maybe advanced video processing (which I doubt)

Ralf

Home Cinema: Beosystem 4, Beolab 7-4 (Center), Beolab 1 (Fronts), Beolab 4000 (Rears). Projector: Sony VPL-HW55
Home Office: Beosystem 3, Beolab 7-4, Beolab 5000, Screen: Sony KD-55XH9005 on Beovision 7-40 stand, ML to Beosound 9000 MK3 and Beosound 5/Beomaster 5 (1 TB SSD version)

Ralf,

1. masterlink - I don't know what to do with :)

2.PUC - beo4 - I am using a Logiteh Harmony one which works great, I am curios if beo4 or beo 6 ( maybe) can be programmed as my logiteh

3. easiest integration of beolabs - for sure , but spending such amount of money only for this?

4.advanced video processing - ?? - I am quite happy with my image...

Masterlink: integrate B&O Videdo and Audio sources and distribute in your house (via cables).

I prefer several stand-alone units...

So, all in all, beosystem 3 is not a big improvement over stand alone units non B&O. ( letting alone 7000 euros :))

Well, we used to have a Beosystem 2 (non HD).

Loved the Beo 4 integrateion!

But that is just too much for this alone...

Ralf

PS: Tried Lintronic, too - but we did no like the way it worked with our AVR (esp. volume changing).

Ralf,

I am using a Harmony One Logitech Universal Remote. Works great and you can customize all your actions.

Not so sexy as Beo 6 but more ergonomic and very easy to setup your actions.

Maybe those who control lights, curtains, etc really need beo 4/5/6....or Lintronic.

I think I'll go for the triggered cables and stay with my system instead of beosystem 3.

Beosystem 3 excels when using two displays (plasma and projector).  Very few people seem to do this though.

Best $7000 HDMI splitter you can get ;-)

I do use different sound fields for the plasma and the projector, since they're not in the same location.  I think I'm one of the very few people who are actually using this capability though. I don't know of anything else that will do this, and is the final killer feature that made me settle on the BS3.
