Hi. Yesterday I finally got my beolab 2 installed with my beolab 8000s. I was delighted with the sound - really amazed. Played a few CD's - then went to play another and nothing. Red lights on all 3 speakers. Nothing working - I have just tried them again this morning and again - nothing.
Any advice on what I can do, what might have happened, would be very much appreciated. I'd bought the Beolab 2 from eBay and found it didn't work so had it repaired - new driver. Costly! And having JUST got it all up and running, needless to say, I feel gutted.
Thanks
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
If all three speakers are showing red lights, why not unplug the Beolab 2 and plug one of the 8000s into that cable? If this works then you are likely to have a faulty sub. If this doesn't work then it may well be a cable issue.
I'm happy to send out new cables on a 60 day trial period for you to check the speaker if you wish? You can see the cables for your speakers here:-

Please let us know how you get on!

I have checked this morning, by unplugging the beolab 2 and connecting the 8000s directly to the beomaster 7000 that the system itself is working fine. Then I reconnected everything including the beolab2 again - and this time, the beolab 2 didn't light up green OR red. No light in fact. Perplexed - I am back to having the beolab 8000s alone for the moment ...
Thanks Andrew,
This sounds like a faulty subwoofer - if there is no light, the subwoofer may not be getting mains power, are you sure the power outlet/cable/fuse are all OK please?
Thanks Steve. I shall almost certainly be buying some cables from you for this system anyway - the ones that came with the speakers are FAR too long for my needs ...
Thanks Andrew
Hope you manage to get the Beolab 2 sorted.
Steve - following your suggestion I prefaced the fuse in the subwoofer plug - and all is fine now. I do feel silly! Any way - thanks. It was a 3 amp fuse so I replaced with the same - hope that is correct.
I shall measure the flexes and order some suitable shorter.
Replaced the fuse, not prefaced ....
That is good news! Yes, a 3 Amp fuse is correct for Beolab 2. You may find that the sub occasionally blows this fuse in normal usage, but I would still recommend using a 3 Amp fuse instead of 5 Amp, for better protection.
Thanks Steve. Solved! Will be in touch soon re leads ...
