Hello everyone.
My name is Denny
I have an old CRT tv, the MX6000.
Last night it was raining, lightning and thundering.
I disconnected all my units to protect them from lightning.
A few hours later I went to plug my units but my MX6000 doesn't power up anymore!
The red LED on my CRT tv doesn't lit up, looks like my tv doesn't get any power???
My tv has been working great and it behaves like this not powering ON after I had unplugged my units when it started lightning last night.
In the past when I have unplugged the tv, it took a while like a few hrs for red LED to power up but this time it's been more than 24 hrs and the red LED has not lit up yet.
What could be the problem?
Thanks
it is a faulty power supply. This is a common failure of the MX Series, in most cases it is the BUTxx transistor.I had several of this for repair.

Hi Ralf
Thanks for your reply
How can power supply fail when I unplugged the power cord from outlet?
I just killed the power to prevent my units getting damaged from lightning.
This is a very strange behaviour from my MX6000!
If I hadn't unplugged my tv, the MX6000 would have still worked!
I have another tv from B&O, it's 32 years old.
The Beovision-8902 series
This tv still performs perfect.
Why did B&O design a tv like the MX6000 without a manual power ON/OFF switch?
This is such a poor design for tv to wear out fast!
