hi all, have just purchased a Beocenter 4600 in the UK which will arrive here in Thailand in about four weeks, my friend in the UK who it was delivered to said a couple of pieces were rolling about loose in the box, on closer examination it appears the little plastic guide holding the weight for the stylus pressure has snapped, it's on the right of the arm as you look at it

now fortunately it appears to be the same turntable as the Beogram 1902 which I have but doesn't work due to all the wiring on the arm perishing, the climate here is very punishing, so in theory I should be able to remove the weight and slide from the 1902 and replace it on the 4600 when it arrives

my question is how to remove the slide and weight without breaking it again in preparation for the 4600 arriving, it doesn't look like it will slide off easily, has anybody removed this in the past, any tips would be appreciated , cheers

The sliding window part will normally accept being pried open just enough to free it from the lead weight and slide it off.

Thanks for that Martin, I thought that might be the case, just a bit nervous of breaking a second one
