Dear B&O,
We love our beolabs. Would be great if you could upgrade the Receiver 1's and the Transmitter to work with Beolab 5. Please also make sure the Receiver 1's is designed so they fit inside the back casing, for a cleaner setup.
I guess i am not the only one wanting to wisa-enable the beolab 5's...
Cheers!
As it happens, this morning my B&O dealer's engineer repaired one of the PL connectors (BL5 to BV11) and we talked about WISA connecting my Beolab 5 speakers. My BV11 has WISA so he said I only needed to buy a receiver, i.e. implying that what you (and I) want is possible already. Can anybody confirm this ??? Thanks !

Hi davelarue,
In theory, you CAN use Transmitter1/Receiver 1 with Beolab 5..... Simply use an RJ45 to RCA cable from the Receiver 1 output to the Line input of the speaker, then activate the speaker in Line mode via the B&O remote:-

Maybe this isn't the perfect, seamless solution we all wanted, but it will at leaast allow the Beolab 5s to work wirelessly.
Kind regards, Steve.

Hi CB,
Thanks for that, you are quite correct.... I have a decent grasp of electronics, my English, however could be better!
To summarise - yes, you CAN use Beolab 5 wirelessly with Transmitter 1/Receiver 1, by using the Line inputs on the speakers.
Does anyone know if the Beolab Receiver has been updated to work with BL5?
Hi Dante,
There were no updates to the Receiver 1 that I am aware of for Beolab 5, the only option would be to run the Beolab 5s in Line mode and feed audio from the Receiver 1 to the RCA input on the speaker.
Hi,
You would still have a volume controlled output from the Transmitter 1, but as the Beolab 5s would be working in Line mode it would be advisable to add a Sync cable between the two speakers as their volume levels won't be synchronised:-
https://soundsheavenly.com/beolab-5-beolab-50-and-beolab-90/41-359-beolab-5-sync-cable-required-for-connecting-beolab-5-to-non-bo-source.html#/3-length-2m
You may feel that this outweighs the advantage of using the wireless system, however the Sync cable isn't essential if you have "line of sight" from the remote control to both speakers.
Hi I was wondering if you could help me with this problem. I want to create a wisa surround sound with a pair of Beolab 5s connected to a receiver 1. I see that you can plug it into the line in. But I was wondering if I did this could volume be controlled from the surround sound wisa source
thanks for the YouTube videos

Hi cameron11,
A wired connection is always the best option, especially with Beolab 5. This is because although a WiSA connection is possible via the Line inputs, it is a work-around and so not something that should be planned for.
