Hello all
I have been using a pair of mk2 Beocom 6000's for several years, and have just purchased a Beotalk1200.
The Beotalk seems to be working, but does not actually answer a call. It shows the incoming number, but does not cut in.
I am guessing that I have some incorrect wires of something.
I am using a standard fax/modem/phone cable from the 3 way splitter on the Beotalk, to a double telephone adaptor (BT style plugs) that I have added so that the Beocom's can remain connected.
Any ideas from anyone would be much appreciated.
My first guess is that the telephone answering function has been deactivated.
What symbols are showing at the top of the secondary screen

I have recorded a message, and have activated the unit.
The double ended horizontal arrow is the only symbol in the top of the display
The issue remains though, it still doesnt pick up the incoming call
Is your Beotalk 1200 connected to a Master or Slave BT socket?
The master is the first socket in the house connected to the incoming phone line
Its plugged into the Master socket.
I have also checked the incoming wire polarity and voltage, which is a liitle low at 43V. But seems to be sufficiednt to power the Beocoms.
Not sure .. maybe its a faulty unit?
It may be faulty, but given that you appear to have done quite a few other checks, then the way to be sure if it is a line or unit problem is try the BeoTalk 1200 on someone else's phone line. If it answers on the other persons phone line then at least you know the status of the BeoTalk.
