hello all,
Recently my Beocenter 2300 has two issues.
One is that can't read CD: It can't read and play CD at first. I tried to load and play many times until it can play the cd finally. I read the forum here and believe it is the time to replace the laser pickup.
second is that the glass door can't open and close in a normal way. I have uploaded a video and the link at here.

I have dismantle the rear cover successfully. and i can disassembly the cd servo board too. I found it is hard to dismantle the laser pickup here from rear. my first question is that ==> is it a right procedure to replace the laser pickup from rear? should I need to dismantle from front cover?
next, i found a belt is loose. I found it is is difficult to take out and replace. Anyone here can share the experience on how to take out and replace the belt?
And my last question is that==> how to dismantle the glass door? hope i can get further guide from experienced person.

Thank you so much of the youtube videos you sent. It is really helpful on how to remove the glass door. In fact I tried few times to pull forward like what video did but I stop eventually cos I afraid breaking the glass with excessive force. And some people here said that tools are needed for glass removal. Anyway I will try it again as video did.

On my Ouverture,two years ago,I was able to pull it out with bare hands,gently.Replaced laser as well.But,whilst putting glass doors back,right glass door slipped away...Decided to buy another Ouverture from Lee,and now I have one for spares.Everybody happy...
And,yes,I love my Ouverture.and I will keep it running with me.It is beautiful piece of art.Chinoise laser replacement was not the best choice,but for serious CD listening,I use, separate,decent old school Cd player.Ouverture mostly used to drive my Beogram 6500,masterlinked to Bsys3.

When doing it like the video, almost no force is required. The key is to pull on the outside of the glass, and towards you and to the middle of the unit. In a circular motion. Imagine closing a book, but one side at a time.
A "quick" pull is better than a very slow one.
The only thing you can break, unless you drop the glass, is that the top and bottom holder can "break" of the glass, and stay on the unit. They can just be glued on again, and normally it is very visible where they were located, you can fell where they belong. Just remember to re-attach them in the right direction, and up/down the correct position.
You can also lay the unit on the back, and using a "big" flat screw driver, covered with fabric, and then insert it between the holder an the unit, and then rotate the screw driver to "pop" the holders out. They are held in by 2 "pins" each.

Thanks to all for a great thread! It has been very helpful when I've been taking my Overturr apart to replace the belt on the door opening motor. But now I'm somewhat stuck. As can be seen from the photos below, I've got the new belt on to the motor (by unscrewing the motor and putting the belt around the "wheel" on the motor), but I'm struggling to get the belt around the larger wheel. I can't see how I can disassemble that wheel to be able to get the belt around it. How do I proceed from here??

Thats the tricky part when changing the door belt, and i've changed a couple of them.
My first advice would be before anything else, to clean the rails with a Q-tip and alcohol and then lubricate the rails with silicone grease. This made the door work again many times.
If changing the belt is mandatory, here is how i did it.
DON'T disassemble the wires !.
After removing the doors, black covers and PCB over the motor:
1 - Lay the Ouverture flat on a table. Keep the new belt handy.2 - The big wheel where the wires are attached is held by a stop ring. With a little screwdriver remove it. take care to not having it jumping somewhere. you can put some kind of grease on it to make it sticky.3 - With the stop-ring removed, gently pull the wheel by holding it where the wires leave it to avoid them to pop out. Just few millimeters, enough to engage the belt between the big wheel and the little cog. care for the side you're engaging it.4 - Put the big wheel and the stop ring back. Check it's firmly attached.5 - Now you can engage the belt around the little motor pulley.6 - Still a little fiddling to engage the belt around the big pulley. I did it by holding it with two little snail forks!
Done.
