Hi

I'm having trouble re-pairing my Essence remote to my BS moment. I have had it paired in the past, and found it useful to have a (physically) remote stop/start/volume device.

Since I made a few changes to my setup, I can no longer get the remote to control the Moment like I used to, and I can't work out if I have a fault, or the new setup is the cause. I am on the latest Moment v2 firmware (updated last night).

My gear:

BV11 & Beoremote One (IR not BT)

BS Moment on latest firmware (updated last night)

Essence Remote

Beolab 18s configured in speaker groups on the BV11

Before the v2 software on the moment, and before I purchased a Beoremote One, I sed to be able to control the Moment via the essence remote (source, stop, start & volume)

Now, the Essence remote just does nothing. I have reset the BS Moment, unpaired my iPhone and re-paired it, changed Essence remote batteries. Changed it's mode to the "B' option, totally reset it with a very long pin press. Nothing!

So, now i'm wondering if the addition of the Beoremote One has affected things?

Would appreciate any thoughts or pointers if anyone has experience with a similar setup?

Many thanks in advance

Tom

An update to this, in case anyone else has the same problem as I do / did:

So it turns out my Essence remote wasn't faulty, and was pairing with the Moment. This has something to do with the setup of the Beovision 11 and it's Remote Control pairing.

On the BV11, under the setup menu, you can tell BV what type of remote you are using. I had changed from the (supplied) Beo4 remote to the (secondary purchase) BeoRemote One.

As soon as I turned that setting back, the Essence Remote worked again!

Volume controls work, MUTE works - and the BeoRemote One continues to work too. So far i've not found any functions that don't work on the Beoremote One when the TV is told to work with a Beo4.

So, i'm now back to the functionality I had before - the Essence Remote can sit in the kitchen area as a long-distance remote for volume and MUTING of the system across the room.

The only minor gripe, is the the Essence can't start playback of audio sources. You can use it to power up the the system, but with my BV11 as the Audio Master, instead of going to the last-used source, it fires up the TV and asks you which sources you want - which you can only select by using the BeoRemote One. Would have been perfect if it could cycle through sources on the Essence Remote.

Will keep playing to see if I can crack this one.

Thanks for the update.

Guess not many users of the Essence remote are using this little jewel with the Moment, therefore your reply is of value for future use.

One question: what do you understand under “pairing”. Du you use the essence remote in Bluetooth or it mode with the moment? I wasn’t able to connect it via Bluetooth, so I use the remote in ir mode ....

After the batteries died in my remote, I also had trouble ‘reconnecting’ it to the Moment, though it is used in IR mode. Did not make any sense, just could not get it to work.

Although they where brand new, I switched them for new Duracell brand ones; all functions perfect again.
