Hi I am a new member to this group and I would like to extend my greetings to you all from Christchurch New Zealand where I live. I have been very fortunate to have been given a Beogram 1202 . It wasn't working , some how a switch mechanism in a plastic see through container had become unattached. I used double sided sellotape to fix it as I was worried about a more permanent adhesive .
Now it is going but it clearly needs to be cleaned inside . I have it working on 33 rpm 12 inch records , but if I make any changes to the size/speed selector everything goes haywire.
One thing I would like to know is how does the arm work? I can see a kind of weight at the back and a track force type dial on the side . I cant seem to be able to move the weight itself. I have managed to increase and decrease the weight on using the side dial , is that right ? It's not like any arm I have had before.
Thanks in advance for any help
Christian
Welcome to the forum, there is a good manual onsite for silver and gold members, here my thread, the 50 to 60 Hz conversion part you can ignore, important is to take the speed shift mech. apart clean it and lubricate it, then do all the adjustment according to manual, and get a new belt from Martin (Dillen) on this forum.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
thank you . this is a great help. I agree , I think I'll have to go in and clean up the speed changer .
