Dears B&O lovers,

We are going to move to a new duplex appartement, and I would like to ask you the next question, to have some ideas :

What would you do

  • with the stuff that we have now ?
  • Change, Add other products ?

Good to know :

We are big Spotifiy/Radio users and netflix users, not big TV shows fans.
Every room is connected with ethernet cables

Here's our actuel B&O products :

Televisions :

  • Beoplay V1-40
  • Beovision 7-32 DVI + motorised stand + Beolab 7.4
  • Beocenter 6-23 ( We will sell it soon)

Audio :

  • Besound 5 Encore
  • Pair of Beolab 4000
  • 2* Beosound 8
  • Beogram 1203
  • Beoplay A2

Downstairs = Living Room - 3 Bedrooms
Upstairs = 1 Big room ( audioroom, movieroom, playroom,...)

See in attachment the plan.

Thanks for your great ideas !

François

Hi Francois,

This is an interesting project!

The TVs should be easiest to place, as they have different screen sizes you can locate these in the rooms where you will be watching movies to suit your needs.

For the speakers, it could be helpful to think about which rooms you will use for serious music listening and which rooms you would want to have background music playing (where the sound quality is less important).  This will help you to prioritise the best speaker for each room.

Kind regards, Steve.

Hello Steve,

Thanks for you reply.

I think we gonna make a music/Video room for serious listening, and other rooms will be casual listening.

The question now is to choose to go with stand alone products or to made a multiroom appartement...;-)

Have a nice day..

If you've got the money, go for the newer multi room products.

They are all fully controllable via the new B&O app too.

What would you use for stand alone?

Regards

Hi Kiran,

(Today every product is now working on itself.)

Those ones are standalone :

The Beosound 5 Encore and 2x A8 (First Bang Olufsen Version, not Beoplay)

Hi guys,

Is it an upgrade to go from the V1 to a BV7-55 MKII ???

Here's the setup of the appartement today :

Living Room :

BV7-32 for casual TV ( like news or something) and Beoplay A9 for music.

Upstairs ( Game room) :

V1 + PS4 + CHROMECAST for Movies and games

BedRooms :

Beosound 8 for the kids and Beosound 5+ BL4000

I Think of changing the V1 with a BV7-55 and connects the BL4000 and add others Beolab to have a little more cinema experience...

What your opinion ?

Thanks

I would definitely say yes.

That will give you a nice surround setup, You can integrate the Beosound 5 to that setup. If you want to stick to good old Masterlink you can maybe pull a Masterlink cable to a Beolink passive with Linkeye and add some active Beolab:s. You can then access TV sound and Besound 5 music from you bedroom.

Hi Hiort,

Thank you for your advice.

The Beosound is the Encore, no ML :-(

I'll go to the BV7-55 then !

Are you looking for a complete bv7-55 with speaker and stand? Or just screen?

I think to go for a BV7 + wall bracket.

I love the low floor stand but not easy to find in 2 hand...

Are you looking for the 7-6 or 7-4 speaker with it, or only screen?

7-6 speaker is wider than the actual screen.

I was thinking first to take it screen alone and just add the Beolab 4000.

But I don't know if it's a good idea...

Hiort,

What's your opinion of BV7-55 vs the BV11-55 ?

I love the two models , I don't know wich one too choose.

I cannot compare since I have not owned any bv7. But I have a BV11-46 that I adore.

I think BV11 has a more modern panel than the BV7-55. Others may confirm that.

Bv11 support the BeoRemote One that I think is superior to the old remote. It has Netlink so that part is more up to date.

Also, I prefer the design to the BV7. It’s really nice on the motorized wall bracket if you want to swing it out from the wall.

Hi Hiort ( and the others),

Finally I have traded the Beoplay V1 for a BV7-55 mk2 + Beolab 7.2 ( this setup was more in my budget) and it's really a nice TV !

Do you know guys, if it's possible to setup the beolab 7 as Left+center+right and add beolabs for the rear ?

Thanks for your advice

I dont know for sure, but it would certainly makes sence if you could.

You can on the BV11 but that is another "sound engine" I believe.

The BL7-2 is a stereo speaker, a 2-channel speaker.

It can be used as L/R or as a (combined) center speaker with the BV7, when you add external front speakers.

As far as I remember you can’t set up rear speakers without having a center and the fronts.

The audio engine of the BV7 has much less possibilities for sound/speaker setup as what you may have been used to with the V1.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Hi Millemissen,

Thanks for your answer.

I must say that the Beolab 7.2 alone is quite impressive, i've played a DVD of James Brown live, and WOW, it was fantastic.
