Hi all,
Where is the best place to source foam surrounds in general?
Is there one place in particular that are very reputable when it comes to foam surrounds regardless of speaker type or brand ie.everything they supply is going to be good. Or there isn't one place for all, but different places depending on what speaker you have in particular?
Also, is what is a good repair kit for old foam removal, dust cone reglueing (black stuff?) and surround reglueing, or you guys that do this source all the products seperatky?
Thanks
I guess it depends where you live!
I don't mind paying shipping costs.
I have had good success with the foam surrounds I have bought from Good Hifi. I am in the USA and they are in the Netherlands. For the glue I like to use the glue sold by SimplySpeakers. There are other good glues for foam surrounds but I like using their glue. I used it on my MC120.2, MS150 and MS150.2 Beovox restorations. I have also bought their black dust cap dressing. I have only used that once and it seemed to do the job so no complaints with that either. For my shims I use Dura-Lar. As I said though, there are different repair techniques so once you have done one you will perfect a technique that works best for you.
