So everyone I've got these amazing speakers that have a variety of video sources, the primary being the brilliant built in bluray player.

But for playing music I'm using Spotify on an iPad mini, and sending it to an Apple TV on the 7-55. It's very convenient but even to my clogged up lugs surely the 5s deserve better.

We will definitely get a Beosound 9000 in the future, but what options are left to me to play a quality of music befitting the speakers. Playing cds through the bluray player is a quick but clumsy option, and the Moment is of no interest to me. The Beosound 5 with its ripper appeals, but it doesn't support Spotify anymore!

What's left?

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

USB DAC with Coaxial OUT.

Coaxial out into BL5 spdif IN.

Hook the DAC up to a PC, Laptop, android or iDevice and listen through Lossless Tidal.

The DAC must be connected to the audio source via USB.

I think this is it? I have never tried it. I'm sure this works?

And then powerlink both BL5 together?

What's left? Beovision 7-55 Mk2, Avant RF 28, Beolab 5, Beolit 15, Beoplay A1/A2, Beocom 2, Beotime, H3 ANC/H8/H6/H2, Form 2, Beoplay A3, Beovision 5-42 connected to a DVD1

Have a look at stb the you can now add a cd player stack to the moment a little pricey though at £650

SORRY - It's only for headphones... my bad

This one completely ready for Android or iDevice but a little pricey.

It has a Wolfson DAC!

The easiest (and also cheapest) way would be to hook up a ChromeCast Audio dongle to the BV using a small optical to coax converter.

You'd probably have plenty of unused spdif coax-in's on that BV7.

You can cast from practically any music service app.

The uDAC3 has analog R/L output as well - this would be ok.

Could easily be connected to the BV7.

(I used to have one (version 1) on my desk/the MacMini.

But fiddling with a wired conputer just to hear music isn't for everyone.

He just said all music services (apps I think) can see the chromecast locally on the network?

Would iDevices see them in the app?

I am trying to control everything via Beolink2 so I'm thinking on that wave length...

Bit too subtle perhaps. Wink

Yes this one has coaxial OUT too but I don't know how to connect it to the iDevice directly.

You would need lighting to USB converter. And then a USB power source input for the uDAC3. Maybe a twin USB with input for power and output going into lighting to USB converter? It's a bit complicated but I have seen a similar setup on youtube: HIFI MAN.

Just loaded this Adele cd into the 7-55, to see what it'll do with the Beolab 5s! WOW

At volume 55 this thing rocks, and I worry it'll annoy my neighbours. I can sometimes put on Sky or a DVD on at 75-80 and yeah it's loud, but nowhere this powerful.

The different volume levels on Beosystem 3 can be really annoying. In the mean time, I need a Beosound 9000Yes - thumbs up

Chris, congrats on your new BL5's... have you had a listen before and after calibration with the same piece of music and can you share your thoughts on how much the BL5's calibration makes a difference? I know everyone's room is different, but I've heard that some people feel that the BL5 overcompensates in some environments, and owners prefer the uncalibrated sound.

Thanks for your thoughts!
