Me too, but what would the XApp provide me on this front?

No - at least as I have understood it - it will replace the Beomusic and the BeoRemote (and assumeably also the setup app)
as a universal B&O control app.
Mr Andersen - please confirm or disprove!

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Sandyb: are you a beta tester? under Music, add DLNA, searched for servers......it took a few attempts for the search to find my NAS, the first few attempts returned nothing......my QNAP was due a reboot and firmware update....did that, and then the NAS appeared ("magically") in the X app......so in essence, didn't really need to do anything configuration wise....... i have a QNAP 251 by the way.....

And what happens if you have more than one server running on your network?
(I have at least 5 or 6).
Will all be displayed - or can you choose which one/ones to display?

BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1
Thanks - that is nice

Hi elephant
Please send me a direct message and i can add you to the beta testers.
Regarding the volume control, we suspect it has to do with with the lock screen control and a dock session or bluetooth. We have a feedback from James and are treating this with highest priority.
It would be most helpful if you could send a email to appsupport@bang-olufsen.dk describing what you experienced. Sorry for the trouble.
Thomas
mbolo01:You see all the available servers at setup time and you add as many as you want to the X App interface
No no no
I upgraded this morning my Android tablet and surprise.... No DLNA server found....
I'm running Serviio on my Windows server and Minimserver on a Mac mini pointing to the Moment, both servers where not showing.
I started Twonky server on the Mac mini and the app suddenly found Twonky server.
I conclude the Android app is only working with Twonky

mbolo01:One of the reasons I prefer Twonky over QNAP or Synology DLNA servers when you have no search capability: Artist Index
Agreed, I love the Artist Index of Twonky. I looked into how I could edit the XML views to allow for indexing of other categories like album / song, etc... unfortunately there is little to no guidance on how to make it happen.
I would LOVE for the X App to support DLNA search functionality.
mbolo01: Millemissen: it - it will replace the Beomusic and the BeoRemote Is the Beoremote app a DLNA controller that you use to stream Videos & Photos to your B&O TV ? (I don't have such devices)

No, the BeoRemote app does not have this functionality.
However, if they (the X-team) want to port this function to the tv's, it would not be a problem, since the modern BV's can act as a DLNA renderer.
Using other DLNA apps to send pictures/movies (and music) to the BV's for playback is no problem.
not sure i understand......the BeoMusic app can search my QNAP DLNA music collection.......i am assuming the new X app will have that same functionality.....maybe i didn't understand what you were referring to in your observation?
Sandyb:the BeoMusic app can search my QNAP DLNA music collection......
ah, thanks for the explanation......and yes, as a Moment owner, the X app becomes very incomplete....
as a beta tester for the X app, i guess i should provide B&O with the DLNA search feedback.....they have to provide something.....in a perfect world, the search field on the Music page should search across both Deezer and Local content.....though i don't think they will do that....i am expecting iOS content (phone / iPad local ) to be added to Music...and then a untied search will need to cut across Deezer / DLNA / iPhone content, and that may get too difficult for B&O, though should be possible.....
Sandyb:i guess i should provide B&O with the DLNA search feedback
I have reported the wish to both our Moment and X App B&O friends
Kiran:I have around 15,000 tracks on my NAS, please do a search function - at least for title name...
Any SW which aims to put a user's media at their fingertips, and lacks a search function is missing the point. PLEASE implement a search function.

Kiran:Instead of scrolling all the way down and then trying to find the track folder by folder or however it is organised
Yep, i raised that same question a few days ago when the beta was released....
The old BeoMusic app didn't have these kind of unified features (search, favorit-ing) across sources.....so i'm not expecting the X app to be able to do it....thats more the functionality of a Moment.......but i'm with you, it would be great if the sections under Music in the app would be unified......
Many many questions, can't answer them all but we're reading and learning. Some quick comments:
Yes, we are working on favorites on DLNA, and perhaps even unified with the Deezer favorites.
Yes, there will be DLNA search. DLNA does not support this out of the box so we have to do it our selves. We have already tested harvesting and can do it fairly quickly on high end phones
Apple music is hard since it is DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected, so no support for now.
Local music, we will start with iTunes support and work from there.
Yes, the NL/ML converter will be supported
Yes, the essence mk1 will be supported
thanks Thomas.....when is your estimate of the next update? end of June?
After reading the whole post, I have learned more about this topic. Thank you so much.

For me, at least -- with over 15,000+ tracks (like a few others here) on my NAS -- DLNA search would be the holy grail if it worked decently well :-)
You have no idea, even with the Artist Index (Twonky) which divides artists out into ABC, DEF, etc chunks, how much scrolling I have to do to get to different tracks. A search function is golden!
Sal:with over 15,000+ tracks (
mbolo01:I already put the lower threshold at 35k tracks when I first discussed this option with MrAndersen.
This is great! I'm so happy different users with a diverse set of use cases are in contact with the engineers so that the software can provide a pleasant user experience across the board at the outset. Thank you! :-)
I'm very much looking forward to search coming to my fingertips in the near future!
