Hello all. I've been studying the bang and olufsen installers masterlink handbook and I got to the section with what each individual cable does and it says 4-10 no connection does that meant hat they don't do anything? These are the cables within the masterlink cable. The reason I've been looking is because I have my lab3500 in the same room as my bs9000 and it's driving me mad when I skip a song it does it twice. So I was looking to see if I could miss out the cable which send the commands as I don't need the lab 3500 to send the signals back to the 9000 but I still need the IR to work for volume and source. Has anybody done anything like this before? Or is there just a simple option setting which I am getting wrong?

Thanks in advance

Or is there just a simple option setting which I am getting wrong?

"A.OPT 1" (or "2" , if a B&O TV is part of the MLsystem) for the BS9000 and
"L.OPT 4" for the BLb 3500 will do the trick.

If you have 2 Beo4s you can program one of them for the use with the Lab 3500 in OPT 4.
It will then automatically add "LINK" to any command sent to the Lab 3500.

If you want to use the just one Beo4 you'll have to "ADD" "LINK" to the "LIST".
Then "MOVE" "LINK" to become the first command of your "LIST".
In "L.OPT 4" all commands for the lab3500 need "LINK" as prefix, eg "LINK" + "RADIO"

Ok so if I put my bl3500 in option 4 then I will have to press link before the 3500 receives the signal is this correct? If so I think that will do the trick.

Yes, you are correct:

You press Link+Radio or Link+CD which starts up your BL3500. All subsequent commands Next/prec, Vol+/- need not be prefixed by "Link", the Beo4 does automatically.

Ok thank you very much that works perfect I've been trying to get a straight answer from my shop but they didn't really know. Back to my original question about wires 4-10 which say no connection. I am about to start master linking all my house together and my dealer has told me to use block connectors or terminal blocks instead on the masterlink junction boxes. Will I still need to connect 4-10? Just that's another 6 connectors at each joint if I could not use these then I think things would be neater. Thanks in advance
