Hi All,
I recently picked up some 6500 and 5500 gear to go along with my old RX2 turntable and along with it was a tan box to plug my turntable in to make it compatible with the 6500 receiver... but it plays super lower and i'm guessing its a pre-amp of sorts and needs a power source... it has a female connection for "IR" and "DC". I don't know what IR is for but i'm guessing DC is for a power source. Pics attached.
Can anyone confirm that, and if so is any 12v plug ok (I'm in the US).
Thanks!
I'm not exactly even sure that is a phono pre-amp. If it was, it should have a grounding post on it. Unless it's meant to be a Beogram to RCA output style pre-amp. Either way, I'd suggest getting a nice aftermarket pre-amp, there are hundreds out there of all different price points, and then a connector like this to connect the phono pre-amp to the Beomaster.
Stereo RCA to B&O Aux.
Lol - funny, totally sketchy...
there's no name on it but i just found a partially rubber off number on the bottom... P150X5 - which i just googled, and its a basic plastic enclosure - i opened it and there are some electronics in there and it doesn't work - its just that the volume in super low.
My system also came with some other boxes that have the B&O name on it - looks like speaker connectors - see attached.
Awesome Beitie - thank you!
