Hi Beoworld, and thank you for the membership.

I have been messing around with my "new" stereo for a while, and myt admit to need help.

System: Beomaster 4400 + Beovox s80

My left speaker is very weak compared to my right speaker.

So i did all the things i could think of:

- Checked balance slider. set to 0.

- Checked the cables for polarity.connected the Din 2-pin so that male spade is connected to the bigger female, and the male round pin to the smaller female. vice versa.

- Switched the speakers around. Still the left output was weak. So ruled out the speakers as the problem.

- switched on Mono. Seems to help balance the sound out betweeen the two.

- Tried using both speaker 1 and speaker 2 outputs on the amp. Left side is weak no matter which i use.

So my conclusion is that the Amp left side is somehow not working very well.

Can there be any other explanations? and is this fixable in anyway? Also just contacted a Bang olufsen workshop in town, to hear their perception of it.

Hope you guys got some idea. Kind of frustrated here :S

Welcome to Beoworld !

Your Beomaster 4400 is in need of electronic service.
Perhaps more or less a rebuild rather than a repair. It's very common for certain comonents to deteriorate with age,
capacitors and trimmers in particular and it's very common to see the symptoms you describe.

A servicekit exists for the experienced electronics guy with the manuals, skills, tools and instruments needed.
