Take a look here and read through. It could be the system they are referring to when they write about the BS9000 -

"A rather inferior attempt had been made at this already for the American market using a machine intended for car use connected to a Beomaster 7000, though clearly such a crude arrangement would have little appeal in Europe."

I've got one.  It's a re-badged Sony CDX-A30 car changer.  The one being sold on eBay is 100% useless (except in a car) without the converter box/power supply, which enables remote control operation, not to mention powers it with 12V:
