Beomaster 6000 RIAA bypass

Here is a reversible modification I'm playing with on my 80's Beomaster 6000. I wanted to use the phono input as a line-in for either adding a CD player with Datalink or use an external phono stage rather than the phono preamp built into the Beomaster and still use the phono button to control or switch to my turntable.

This is from a burned volume control board on the BM6000 (saga documented elsewhere)

Here is the modification.

The 3pin side goes to the p23 which is the phono line to the preamp there is a shared ground on the input but separate on the output from the board to p24 so I bridged it with a wire and solder.

Here is the modifier in use. The bridge could be tidier for a better fit. Be mindful to not connect the 32v pin 6 to the incoming signal. That would be bad. Should be obvious which are the signal R,L and ground vs pin 6. If this is not obvious to you, you should stop.

A little tape. Working as expected with an external phono stage at the moment. And now I can connect my Bluetooth receiver again to the tape 2 input.

I think that is what the Beomaster 6500 is for.

An added benefit of my "mod" is my wife can play one of her records on my turntable with a MC cartridge without having to figure out which alternate input button to push when I'm out.
